Ok, so I finally registered on TripAdvisor. Thank James for that... We stayed at the Downtown B&B for an extended week-end in October. The situation is perfect, smack downtown, walking distance to subway, easily reached from anywhere. The B&B has all you need, and more. For a short visit or an extended stay, you really can make this your home... More

Wow. Fantastic experience staying for business overnight before a flight heading out East. Decor is refreshingly contemporary and clean. Staff are great. Rooms are fabulous, quiet and great views of the airport area. Every detail was well thought out from the extra lighting in the work area in the room to an adequate number of electrical outlets to satisfy all... More

the owners are incredibly warm and hospitable. the place is not impersonal like a hotel and the owners would go out of their way to make customized food based on your dietary restrictions/ choices. the rooms are reasonably priced and the food delicious. however, it is a bit distant from the downtown, well-connected by public transit though.

What and amazing place, run by the most amazingly warm and generous people we have ever had the good fortune of meeting. Rog and Jim made our honeymoon complete, they offered a warm homely atmosphere, fantastic food (i still have holiday belly guys) and a service that you just can not find anywhere else. The best thing we gained however... More

I returned home from Toronto yesterday and it is with such a mix of feelings that I write this. TDBB has been my home away from home ever since I stumbled across it three and a half years ago. My favorite B&B of all time. And now they are making a change. A good change for them, but oh how... More

Our second time staying with Jim & Roger and once again we found nothing but the best. Their hospitality extends beyond that of other hoteliers. They go all out 110% to look after you all the way and for that alone you get your money's worth, not forgetting Jim's superb food fayre and the banter to be shared with both... More

I really enjoyed my stay here. The guys who run this have really put some effort in to making this great, you can tell they enjoy what they do. It is such a genuine pleasure to find something like this. I'm a business traveller. I spend most weekdays on the road and usually stay in hotels. I only booked this... More

You can't go wrong with this place. We stayed at TDBAB for a long weekend and again found the experience to be superb. The place is such a great value we almost feel guilty. We drove our car from Wisconsin this time, and found the parking arrangements to be convenient. We had stayed at TDBAB before, and Jim remembered our... More

This was my first experience in a bed and breakfast and the hosts at this establishment have converted me to B&B's for all my traveling. The ambience was relaxed yet refined. The breakfasts were out of this world. We arrived with no plans other than to "have fun" and the hosts were kind enough to assist with our traveling through... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
