The neighborhood isn't the greatest looking, and the rooms were quite dated, but for what we wanted (central location, cheap) we got more than we deserved! Nice and clean, very comfortable. Air Conditionning was essential since it was SCORCHING hot while we were there. (The smog in Toronto was unbelieveable) We didn't get to make use of the kitchenette since... more

We had booked a room nearby, but cancelled after seeing the reviews on trip advisor. Previous reviews for the Grange were also poor, but we decided to take a chance. Contrary to others, we found the place to be clean and friendly. Our room smelt a little when we first entered, but we opened the window and all was well... more

We normall would stay at a higher end hotel but when we arrived in Toronto without a reservation, this was one of the only two hotels available downtown. I asked to see the room as we arrived. It was clean and bright and looked freshly painted. The beds were basic (one double and one single) as was the furniture. The... more

There's city project housing across the street, there was filth on the floor and I woke up in the middle of the night to rats—Yes, you read correctly, rats—in the vents. Nightmare..... more

The location is a bit dodgy, surrounded by low-rent housing. A brisk 20 minute walk to downtown. The major street three blocks to the south has "funky" shops and restaurants. The check-in office is a cluttered mess, looks like somebody's home office. Friendly service. The room was small, old, dank, not well appointed. The mattress was not up to North... more

If you are looking for a reasonably priced, basic room, this is what you'll get. The immediate neighborhood is questionable (and noisy), but you are SO close to the fabulous Kensington Market District (vintage shops). A single woman might not feel comfortable staying there alone. The room is small, but adequate. It wasn't super clean, but it wasn't disgusting. There... more

This "hotel" was completely disgusting. We booked two rooms for a party of 4 and they were both filthy. The carpet was covered in dirt and fluff and was not cleaned at all during our stay. The bedspread was dirty looking and had probably never been washed - this applies to the vallance on the bed as well. We stayed... more

The picture of the hotel on the website looked nice, but not when you actually went to the hotel. The office did not look like a hotel office. I felt uneasy walking around the neighborhood on the first day. But after one day of stay, I became comfortable with the surrounding. The price for one night stay was cheaper compared... more

I can't express enough....don't waste your money. Our first impression was this is not a hotel but an apartment building, and very run down. It may be in the downtown area, but when you drive down the side street to get there, it is a run down residential area with the view of laundry hanging out on the front yards.... more
