This place does not exist, went there, dark and locked up, could not get to the door to knock. Gate locked. Looks closed up and is locked. THIS IS VERY MISLEADING. I don't believe this place exist anymore and it is still on the website as a B&B and taking bookings and money. At night street is dark if you're... More

This used to be my favourite place to stay in Toronto. I made reservations for this past weekend through the website, but when I arrived my key wasn't in the mailbox as per usual - instead the box was packed full of unretrieved mail. We tried the door and it opened into a dark, empty, gutted building that was clearly... More

My mom and I stayed at this cozy B&B the weekend when she was travelling. At first we had a mix up with the reservation and my mother insisted that we will not share the bathroom. So Raphael gave up the Upper Canada room which was a suite in the basement, it was quiet and clean and accessible. The host... More

Appalling experience. We booked this a few months ago for a quick stay in the city. Everything was confirmed and communication was good. However when we got there no one answered the door and no key was left for us as promised. We tried calling the owners several times with no luck. Eventually the neighbours told us that the place... Beware! We were here for 3 nights. The first 2 nights were great, but on the third night, after being gone all day, we came home to a U-haul truck outside and the place had been emptied! We spent the night alone, we were scared because we didn't know what was going on, and the place had been emptied except... More

The location of the inn was perfect, it was within walking distance to the gay village and to public transportation system [both the underground and the streetcars]. Despite its convenient location, it was located on a relatively quiet street that allowed for a peaceful night's sleep. The room was fairly spacious, we were in the Banting room, and the bed... Stayed in The Banting room which was very spacious, clean and comfortable and with its own en suite bathroom. The location of the house is excellent, only 30mins walk to downtown Toronto. We made use of the on site parking which was good. A special mention has to be made of Raphael's superb blueberry pancakes at breakfast. We found a... More

Banting House Inn is a nice, beautiful and spacious old house in the city centre of Toronto, a house embodying the spirit and character of the early twentieth century thereby creating a quiet and cosy atmosphere within the bustling and lively town centre. Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
