The Grand Hotel is very close to all amenities in Toronto. The hotel is very clean and consists of small suites, with a small sitting room, kitchenette and bedroom & bath. A breakfast buffet is included and was very good. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

the staff are friendly and helpful, was concerned as we had read hotel was out of the way, but no, just walk down Jarvis Street and you come to Queens, so everything was close by. Breakfast was good with lots of choices. Room nice and the roof top hot tubs brilliant

My sister and I stayed here earlier this month. The hotel itself is clean, well maintained and has a luxurious feel. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The breakfast was also excellent with a wide range of items for even the fussiest eater! Downsides: it's in the downtown area and as in all large cities, there were some "dodgy"... More

Stayed for a week on business and i have to say that the service is one of the best i have encountered. The breakfast is very nice, the room well furnished and the gym has a decent amount of gear. Only down side for me was the location, the area itself is pretty dodgy and a bit far from downtown.... More

This hotel was a perfect choice for our overnight stay.. I actually wish we stayed on an extra day so that we could take advantage of it's location. Our purpose was to see a show at the Ed Mirvish Theatre, and this hotel was located just around the corner. We also appreciated the parking garage on the premise. The room... More

I was booked at the Grand for a business trip and while I was skeptical when I arrived (the location, while convenient, didn't have much curb appeal) my mind was quickly changed as soon as I entered the lobby. Well maintained, friendly staff, great amenities (including an incredible free breakfast). I can't say enough nice things about the Grand.

Great hotel with a very cool rooftop hot tub! The staff here were amazing! Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Just a short walk to the main high street and some good places to eat close by. Very nice food at the hotel restaurant too. The only thing that I didn't like was the weird seasoning that unexpectedly... More

Stayed here just one night on a business trip. The cost was very reasonable, and when you consider that it includes internet and a breakfast buffet, it was a great deal. The rooms are nice, and larger than the average hotel room. The only drawback is the location is odd - halfway between downtown and Bloor.

There's absolutely nothing negative to report. I'm still here for a while and quite glad and smug about that too! It is an old-ish grand dame of an hotel which probably deserves a 5 Star rating. Rooms are spacious- with a fairly large pull out sofa so my family's quite comfortable. Housekeeping is thorough, Room Service swift (sometimes you get... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
