Classic on the outside, modern and chic on the inside. So many things to praise about this hotel - the ultra cool rooftop jacuzzi's with tremendous views of Lake Ontario and the city. The first class large gym with excellent steam and sauna rooms in each changing room.Beautiful indoor pool on the ground - stunning. Breakfast, indeed all meals taken... More

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my family and overall was very impressed with this hotel. The location was close to town (though the area not the the greatest) and the junior suite really smart, tidy and clean. The breakfast was also good with plenty of choice. My only complaint was the lack of care when it... More

Finished our trip to US and Canada at the Grand. Like the previous reporter, we too were celebrating a special anniversary here and had already booked a 2 bed junior suite. This was upgraded to a bigger suite at the back of the hotel on the second floor which was very luxurious and appreciated. We too received the chocolate strawberries... More

I booked with this hotel online and it was a great experience. I told them online it was our anniversary, and when we got to the hotel they surprised us with a free upgrade to the jacuzzi suite and sent up 12 chocolate dipped strawberries. That was such a wonderful surprise! The staff was great, the hotel was clean and... More

I would have given this hotel 6 stars if I could. This hotel is simply wonderful. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a loft suite which was stunning. They made sure to include all the little amenities that make your stay so much better. The hotel is very beautiful and clean. The rooftop jacuzzi is lovely in the evenings and... More

Great hotel! Very Clean and had helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was very good as well. Parking is extra but still not bad for down town Toronto. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

The buffet was delicious. The hot tubs and pools were great! The best were the workers. I kept waiting for them to slip up, but they honestly were great people, sincere and helpful which is more that you could ever ask for these days. The apples near the desk were also sweet and yummy. We left our swimsuits at the... More

Stayed here for 2 nights having flown in from in from UK. Greeted by excellent friendly and efficient doorman and reception staff. Room spacious and comfortable with mini kitchenette. A safe (in the wardrobe) secured to the floor required getting down on all fours to use! Which in turn meant my husband could not access the bathroom until I had... More

First of all, we had called several times in advance to ensure that we could book a room with a patio. I mean weeks in advance. We had also called the morning we were supposed to arrive to make sure our room with a patio was available and were told that 2 rooms with patios were available. Upon arrival, not... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
