4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Steps from the Bata Shoe Museum, the Royal Conservatory of Music, and ROM, not to mention the subway transfer station St. George, we were thrilled with the location. Beds and room were great. Absolutely quiet with perfect a/c settings, and curtains which completely blacked out the light. The only disadvantage was no wifi in our room. The lobby had 2... More

I came to Toronto wanting to like this hotel, particularly because it's so conveniently located to the university. Unfortunately, my stay quickly turned into a huge disappointment. Despite a friendly and efficient check-in, the room I was given clearly had not had a face-lift since the 1980s. More troubling, the mattress was the lumpiest I've experienced in a hotel in... More

The hotel is very old. The rooms need updating. Carpets need changing. We choose this hotel as it was close to family but would not stay there again. For the price tag of $235. you would figure that it would be quite a nice hotel. The restaurant attached to the hotel has a nice atmosphere. It is a pub with... More

I stayed here due to flight delays, so instead of spending hours at the airport, I decided to check into a downtown hotel for the night. The hotel location is not bad, about 10 minute walk from the Royal Ontario Museum, and couple minutes from the St. George station. The hotel itself is just ok, like most Holiday Inns. I... More

The reason why I will come back to the hotel for a second round is because of a guy at the front desk, employee named Stefan. Stefan helped me and was there for me when I needed and always with such a good service and a great smile ... made me feel like 5 stars!

The hotel was very close to where I needed to be and it was very clean and tidy. Staff were extra helpful I was helped by Heather (behind the bar South Korean) who went above and beyond the call of duty to help and assist me. I could not fault anything about the hotel from check

Hotel is old and tired although seemingly in the process of refurbishment. However yet to extend to public spaces or bathrooms, the faucets are so old they are now coming back into fashion. Room smelled of smoke although hotel is supposed to be smoke free. Housekeeping desultorily sprayed room freshener, still smells. Breakfast is from pub within hotel, really really... More

This holiday inn is located in the edge of bloor street, so its not in the fancy part of town. The property is old and shows clear signs of a need for updating. You can tell that the bathrooms where given a quick "spit and shine." You can see that the hotel is desperate need of updating. From the decor... More

Our first room had sheets not changed with hair and crumbs, room not vacuumed, given a second room dirty with dirty sheets and bathroom. Talked with the manager and finally found an acceptable room. Restaurant is dated and dirty. Needs an update and thorough cleaning.

Whilst the decor may be getting a bit tired, the very friendly and well informed staff more than make up for it! There's always someone available to solve any problem, answer any question. Top location too, handy to the subway, many local attractions, and even a Timmies nearby, yum!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
