The best things I can say about this hotel is that it is in a nice location and it seemed to be clean. If that's all you're looking for, you will be satisfied. Upon arrival I was met with a lobby full of people waiting to get their rooms. It was after 2:30 in the afternoon on a Monday, and... More

Very good looking location in the downtown Toronto Ontario area. Located on Lombard St. & walking distance to all areas of the city. Just a short walk to the Hard Rock Cafe, & also The Rogers Center for all events! I recommend this hotel for budget conscious couples who want to enjoy Toronto & have access to all locations in... This Holiday Inn Express is not as fancy as most of the chain's express hotels. It's a little run down and showing its age. It looks and feels like a Comfort Inn or some other budget hotel. However - the rooms are clean (with a work table and electrical outlet) and the check-in is fast and efficient. The hotel is... More

To me, it was a pretty nice hotel, the room was good, but I found that the air conditioner just couldn't be turned off. The breakfast started at 6:30 and ended at 9:30. I got there at around 9:25 and they were tiding up the food. My sister went to get a banana, but there weren't any left so she... More

The overall experience is OK as you can't expect more unless you are willing to pay more. However, there are a few points that the hotel management need to pay attention. 1. The air-conditioner in the room is so noisy. I tried to shut it down and opened the windows as it was not hot during my stays in August.... More

Stayed here for two days and was very satisfied. I've been please with every holiday inn express I have stayed at and this was consistent and pleasant. The location near at Lawrence is great, shopping and eateries surround the neighborhood. Also across the street from st James park, a nicely maintained square with a short path. We were able to... All in all, I always enjoy staying at a Holiday Inn Express - usually good value, their cinnamon rolls are great, and they offer a good value for the money spent. Unfortunately, the HIE in Toronto did not meet with our expectations. First the GOOD: Staff at the desk was excellent, always willing to help with advice about getting around... More

We stayed here for 3 nights while enjoying Toronto. The Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is walking distance to Toronto Eaton Centre, and to subway stations. Our room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Yes, this is a older hotel, but if you could look past that you are in for a nice stay. The... More

We stayed only a weekend at the holiday inn. We were gone for most of our stay. The hotel parking was full but here's another parking lot less than 5 mins walk away. The staff could give better directions however. This parking was cheaper only $10 a day. The hotel is about 7 mins walk from the subway at the... More

My friend and I were here to visit and to watch the O's play the Blue Jays. We stayed here and the value was good. The rooms were good as expected and the free breakfast in the morning was a nice perk. Would stay here again.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
