Hotel was pre paid and when I got home found out that the hotel charged me $150 for "incidentals", just in case there were extra charges on my room..which there were not. i contacted hotal who said this charge would be coming off my card within the week. charged for incidentals, just... My special king room was very nice with high ceilings, lots of space, a marble bathroom, clean linens, and a great bed. The location is also excellent. It is in a financial part of downtown, so it is safe and, on the weekend, quiet, but also close to fun things. The valet told me where to park half a block... More

Since the early 1980s, the King Eddie (properly "Le Meridien King Edward" on King Street East one block from Yonge, but no Torontonian has ever called it that) has been my regular kip on my frequent trips to one of my favourite metropolises. To be blunt, under Meridien's umbrella it has slipped a bit since it was the independent upscale... More

Currently Staying at the property, and am pleasantly surprised of all aspects (aside from the fitness center). The service is great, the room is clean, very quiet, and very comfortable. The food in the bar is quite good, and I love the highback chairs in there. The fitness center was recently renovated, however there doesn't seem to have been much... More

This old property has kept the style and attention to service of the older Meridiens; thank goodness it hasn't tried to "modernise" with the trendy lighting, canned muzak, and "W" imitation of so many Meridiens (e.g. Montreal and Picadilly, London). The rooms are comfortably large, the common parts are discreet and well-maintained, the reception sevice and attitude is friendly and... More

I have been staying in the 'King Eddy' since January every week for business and greatly enjoy the experience. Everything from the Architecture of the hotel to the friendliness of the staff I have enjoyed. If you are looking for a home-town feel instead of a commercial type place to stay then this is where you should stay. Its not... More

We just got back from Toronto, where we stayed at the King Eddie Hotel. The hotel has an ideal location in the downtown core. Built a good number of years ago, the King Eddie embellishes charm and splendour. The hotel is undergoing renovations to upgrade more rooms and they are changing some of the floors into condos. When you book,... More

Travelled here for a business meeting. Great front desk service - very personable, and processed quickly. Room very large, but showing its age. No coffee maker. No free wireless (inexcusable in this day and age), old TV. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Had a meeting in the Crystal Ballroom on the 17th floor - absolutely inexcusable place to have customers meet. Raccoon... More

The King Edward was the second hotel I stayed in while in Toronto. It is a beautiful old hotel with lots of character. Check in was quick and efficient even though I was checking in an hour before the posted check-in time. The room was very large and tastefully decorated to suite the character of the hotel. The rooms were... More

I stayed at this hotel in April as I was attending a conference. The service and staff are outstanding. There is construction going on at this hotel, and the noise that we could hear started around 7:30 am, however, we were already awake. The room was huge, the bed very comfortable, and bathroom amenities were of the quality that would... More
