My husband and I stayed at Hotel Victoria in order to attend a concert at Air Canada Centre. Hotel was lovely, nice service and very clean. This is a smaller place (no highrise), and we enjoyed the fact that it was not a massive, bland chain. We had asked for a quiet room far from the elevator, and they accommodated... More

My first experience with this hotel was when my boyfriend and I arrived in Toronto and missed the turn for the parking lot. We got very lost because of all the one-ways and could not figure out how to get back. I called the hotel for help and the woman was quite rude. Saying things like "That's what I just... More

Stayed for one night at hotel Victoria. Staff on reception weren't particularly welcoming on arrival. The room was small and a little shabby. The lights wouldn't switch off, we had to plug them out! The bathroom smelt mouldy and there were holes in the door. Air con was very loud and mattress was soft and squishy. All in all a... More

I'm usually not picky at all, but I also don't mind paying a bit more for a hotel that I know is worth the money. Here's my recent experience with this hotel: - First of all the parking they offer is a few blocks away from the hotel. - The service at the front desk was terrible. - They were... More

My son and I stayed here during our visit to Toronto. Our primary destination was the hockey hall of fame which was two blocks away. This hotel is small and quiet. It worked great for us. They had a two bed option that was great. The hotel was very clean and was central to many visitor destinations. The staff was... More

Good location for many attractions and bars and restaurants. Rooms small but I just slept there and showered, didn't need more. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Staff helpful. The breakfast place attached is a great way to begin the day and very popular with locals.

We were in Toronto overnight to take in a concert with our family of four. I booked this hotel through booking.com based on it's proximity to downtown and to the Air Canada Centre, where the concert took place. Hotel Victoria is a handful of blocks from Yonge/Dundas Square in one direction and the Hockey Hall of Fame, ACC, Rogers Centre... More

The lobby has been updated, and the restaurant has some charm to it. But, the room was small, felt cramped, bathroom definately needed some updates! Our view was of a brick wall, and there is no parking, we were recommended to use nearby parking garages. But, your paying for location, it's a block and a half from Union Station. If... More

This is one of the cheaper options in downtown Toronto, and it was a good value for the area. The hotel is old, the single elevator is slow (I took the stairs down from the 4th floor), the floors in the room were creaky hardwood. I was worried there would be too much noise for me to get a good... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
