The Hotel Victoria is a boutique older, smaller hotel, but don't be deceived by this, it may not have all the extra facilities that the newer, bigger hotels have but it makes up for it in charm and personal feel that the others will most certainly lack, its position is perfect as a central point in the city and all... Pros: Location - in the financial district right on Yonge Street. Very close walking distance to sites such as Hockey Hall of fame, CN Tower, St Lawrence Market and Eaton Centre. King Subway Station just a few steps away. Hotel is very clean and front desk staff are very friendly. Lots of restaurants within walking distance as well. Cons: Room... More

This place is a small boutique hotel. The rooms are clean and the space is adequate (not too much, not too little). The decor is simple and nice, but the upkeep is a little behind. For example, someone must have broken the shutters for the bathroom window so someone did a shotty job glueing it together from the looks of... More

My wife, my 8 month old and myself stayed at Hotel Victoria for a two day visit this August. The hotel is clean, good value and in an excellent location, close to a number of attractions and restaurants/bars. The staff are somewhat introverted but very helpful. The price is extremely reasonable given the location. But with this comes a few... More

The location makes this hotel a good place to stay. On the edge of the financial district it's within easy walking distance to Union Station, the convention center, Rogers Center, and St. Lawrence market. The room was small, but comfortable with adequate closet space and a small bathroom. The shower was very good. The breakfast at Over Easy in the... More

Following a multi site trip where we stayed with friends and family in both Toronto and Michigan, I wanted to give myself and my daughter a bit of a treat and have some quality time in the city in a central boutique hotel where we could relax and enjoy a final few hours before we headed back to the UK.... My husband and I stayed at Hotel Victoria in order to attend a concert at Air Canada Centre. Hotel was lovely, nice service and very clean. This is a smaller place (no highrise), and we enjoyed the fact that it was not a massive, bland chain. We had asked for a quiet room far from the elevator, and they accommodated... More

My first experience with this hotel was when my boyfriend and I arrived in Toronto and missed the turn for the parking lot. We got very lost because of all the one-ways and could not figure out how to get back. I called the hotel for help and the woman was quite rude. Saying things like "That's what I just... More

Stayed for one night at hotel Victoria. Staff on reception weren't particularly welcoming on arrival. The room was small and a little shabby. The lights wouldn't switch off, we had to plug them out! The bathroom smelt mouldy and there were holes in the door. Air con was very loud and mattress was soft and squishy. All in all a... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
