The hotel is modern, beautiful, perfectly located in downtown Toronto, very near wonderful museums and the U. of Toronto. The staff are uniformly friendly and helpful. The desk clerk, without hesitation, did what I was unable to do - access and print my boarding pass. The hotel restaurant is pricey and the service isn't great. I'd return here for sure... More

My wife and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary at the hotel and the staff was fantastic. We were given a fantastic room upgrade and other goodies over the weekend! Very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable . A great weekend.

Good hotel in an ideal location on the fashionable Bloor Street, near a variety of restaurants, across from the Royal Ontario Museum and the stop of the Hop-on Hop-off Tours. Quiet atmosphere in the hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast room is quite dark and the breakfast buffet leaves much to be desired for the price.

This was my first stay at this hotel and everything was great. The location is central with access to subways and local high end shopping and fabulous restaurants. The hotel amenities were more than satisfactory both meeting rooms, catering and guest rooms. I would return as found good value for money here.

Traveled to Toronto on an Anniversary trip with my wife. Wanted to stay in the city center; found this to be an excellent location. The hotel (and rooms) are slightly dated in their layout, but are appointed nicely and maintained well. Staff was very helpful and treated American travelers with a warm, friendly attitude. Ordered room service several times and... More

Connecting rooms of studio suite and adjacent room worked well for wedding Mom and Dad of the groom. Room for six 'drop-in' guests to have snacks/cocktails, and for the 5 groomsmen to prepare for the ceremony. Very attentive staff to bringing extra towels/ glassses, an emergency pair of scissors. Quiet suite overlooking courtyard. Roof top deck was another great refuge.... More

Terrific midtown location in the ritzy Yorkville area, within easy walking distance to restaurants, museums, and some of the most expensive shopping in the city. The building is not new, and the lobby area feels "subdued". Rooms facing South are subject to constant traffic noise, and sound insulation is poor. Staff were very friendly and efficient, our room was adequate,... More

Dear Stanley F, Thank you so much for your wonderful review following your most recent stay with us! I am so glad you enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the location of the hotel - the south facing rooms can be a little busier than usual, especially during a more robust time in the city. Facing one of the busiest streets... More

Our two night stay was excellent. Especially helpful were the charming door men who were at the ready with umbrellas, helpful directions, carting baggage, etc. Parking is available in a convenient adjacent garage, though it is extra, of course. Our room was very elegant, overlooking an outdoor patio with chic outdoor seating and ambience. And, a window that opened to... More

We're on our last night of a four-night stay at the Intercontinental, and I'm so sad to be leaving. It's been wonderful from top to bottom. We stayed in room 539, which was a regular suite with a king bed. Very roomy. Comfy furniture. Ridiculously nice pillows. Nicely decorated. _Incredible_ view of Bloor street, directly across from the Royal Conservatory... More

You can't beat the location of this hotel central to everything--the ROM, AGO, Kensington Market...just step out the front door and you've got it all! I liked that it was well-priced, very comfortable clean room, and a nice little pool and sun deck. The only niggle was no free Wifi.

Dear marliepowell, Thank you for your review and feedback! I am so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and that you had a chance to explore the city (Kensington is one of my favourite areas of the city as well). Thank you for your compliments to the sun deck - I hope you had a nice drink or snack... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
