We travelled to Toronto over the Easter Weekend 2012. We took a package that included parking and breakfast. We also reserved seating for Easter Brunch, a very popular outing.
This is an old hotel and a classic with gold and wood trim and represents elegance in hotel stays. Plenty of space to sit and relax and watch the pagentry unfold....

Old hotel, needs a lot of work. The first room we had did not have a hairdryer and the window was boarded up due to construction work outside. The hotel lobby looks impressive, kind of monumental and luxurious. We'd expect the same from the acommodation. Boy were we wrong.
The room we reserved was not available so they offered us a smoking room instead and my associate accepted even though we were non smokers. Not that much of a deal though.

We spent a couple of days in Toronto for our anniversary, and the Royal York showed us a wonderful time. The room was perfect, and service was impeccable. The hotel surprised us with a cake and sparkling wine for our anniversary. We're big fans, and likely won't stay anywhere else if we can help it.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Upgraded to Fairmont Gold. We have never been treated so well in a hotel. Staff were excellent, polite, helpful.
