Old hotel, needs a lot of work. The first room we had did not have a hairdryer and the window was boarded up due to construction work outside. Couldn't fully open the cupboard as the bedside table was in the way. No drawers in this room, so nowhere to store any clothes that don't hang up. Why give us this... More

The hotel lobby looks impressive, kind of monumental and luxurious. We'd expect the same from the acommodation. Boy were we wrong. The room we reserved was not available so they offered us a smoking room instead and my associate accepted even though we were non smokers. Not that much of a deal though. We spent a couple of days in Toronto for our anniversary, and the Royal York showed us a wonderful time. The room was perfect, and service was impeccable. The hotel surprised us with a cake and sparkling wine for our anniversary. We're big fans, and likely won't stay anywhere else if we can help it. More

We stayed here for 4 nights. Upgraded to Fairmont Gold. We have never been treated so well in a hotel. Staff were excellent, polite, helpful.
