The Fairmont Royal York is centrally located. The excellent user-friendly subway system is only one block from the hotel and allows easy access to the city's main attractions. Unlike others I was not expecting a Four Seasons experience while at the Royal York. I was hoping for a clean room and good service in a location that was close to the activities that we planned on taking in while in town. What we got was somewhat different. When you go to a Fairmont hotel, you have expectations. The Royal York is in serious need of updating. Pretty much everything from the lobby to the rooms is faded and looks old.
