The only two good things about this place is the front porch and the location. It was a 1/2 block to the beach. From the front it looks great until you enter. the place is definitely old. the beds are awful. The washer/dryer is upstairs so if you do not have the whole place rented you do not have use... More

The purpose of our visit was to spend Christmas with our daughter and son and their families. . From the outside, the cottage looked okay but once inside we began to see some of the problems, electrical, many, many extension cords everywhere connecting many things to one outlet and the note saying not to turn the lights off in the... Fantastic location to walk to beaches and for no frills holiday. Very laid back and families must love it because the downstairs unit has a lot of space for kids and parents. Be prepared though for the fact that there are handwritten signs posted not to use certain power plugs because it will cause electrical problems. Also no airconditioning and... More

My infant daughter and I spent 1 night at the Balsam Beach Inn in the Toronto 'Beaches' neighbourhood. The accommodations are very 'cottagey'; which I really enjoyed. The Inn is an old home (+100 years old) located approximately 2 houses up from the beach / boardwalk along Lake Ontario. While lying in the master bed, I was able to see... More

My wife booked this place as it was recommended on a wedding list we were attending in the area. As we drove, we looked it up on the Blackberry and saw the one bad review and thought: "Uh oh. What are we getting into?" When we arrived, we had low expectations. After all, the innkeeper - Barry - wanted to... More

We located BBI advertised on BB Canada. The description and photos described it as a spacious, tidy and well kept establishment.......................oh my, we got that one wrong. From the moment we arrived until we escaped, we felt uncomfortable and we were perplexed that we actually ended up staying one night. We never even met the owner or overseer. Upon arrival,... More

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
