This privately owned hotel which used to house a bank has been transformed into a great place to stay. We are presently staying for the week and have been here for 5 days and have been so impressed with everyone and everything about this hotel. First and foremost the staff have been absolutely great! Lilly is awesome! At the buffet... More

Stayed here just for one night. We received a free upgrade to a two bedroom suite for two of us on business travel. Very clean, great view, comfortable living room. Included a washing machine, small stove top and dishwasher which would be handy for longer stays. Wish it had a towel in the kitchen. To get to the bathroom you... More

We were in Toronto for our first anniversary trip. We pulled into Toronto very tired, hot and completely overwhelmed with our drive into downtown. We didn't have a hotel booked and didn't know what to expect. We just wanted to get here and figure it out, however, we didn't count on it being 90 degrees and roasting, then a complete... More

The hotel was perfectly located and the room was very useful. It was a massive shame that we stayed during the renovations but the hotel needs a facelift so understand the necessity to do it. Very convenient in terms of fridge, microwave, stove, kettle, coffee maker, ironing board. Very clean and smart in the room.

My husband and I stayed overnight from Saturday to Sunday in Feb 2015. We were in the city to visit with family and go out for dinner. The room was newly renovated and very clean. We had a great view of the city. Sunday morning we were up early and had the continental breakfast which was very tasty. Valet parking... More

The door was a real door and fully closed over. After first being put into a suite with no physical door closing off the main bedroom to the living room, which was on the 42nd floor and had great views. We were then moved to the 20th floor. The kitchen has a washer/dryer for your clothes, a dishwasher, small sink,... More

Beautiful old hotel, wonderful stay., nice rooms, washer, dryers, dishwasher mini kitchen. The only issue the hot tub was closed that was disappointing. This was our third staying here, it is centrally located.

Im in town researhing cinemas an this hotl was ideally loated in a central location. The staff were very helpful and courteous, the room is an unusual shape but larger than usual with lovely corner windows with a desk and a view (of the low cloud and rain)! Woul reccomend for the business traveller or weeknd get away.

I was looking for a hotel for some family members to spend the night in the city during March break. I had received a few offers from various hotels by email, which lead me to do some online searches to price compare. We took advantage of the last minute/no cancellation deal at 1 King West and I was really impressed.... More

We just returned from a weekend at 1 King St. W. in Toronto. The location is outstanding, central to everything and has access to the PATH. The hotel is gorgeous and the service was wonderful. We ate lunch in the King St Bistro. Don't let the appearance fool you, the food was fantastic!!. The view from our room on the... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
