This was my first experience staying at a B&B and I was SO impressed. Cleaner than most hotels I have stayed at, kind friendly service, amazing breakfasts...I will definitely recommend staying here to all of my friends and family! Look forward to staying at Annex Garden again in the near future! :)

This historical home is situated close to great restaurants, convenient transit choices, and some of the most interesting and varied sights in Toronto. I loved the beautiful furnishings and excellent art that filled the house. My room was comfortable, with every amenity (including fast wifi) I could want. Roberta fixed a delicious breakfast each morning, and the enjoyable conversation with... More

Where to start? The house, filled with wonderful eclectic furniture and superb artwork, is an Edwardian jewel, lovingly upgraded and restored by host Roberta Ferrence. Excellent amenities. Comfy bed, flat screen TV, fridge, luxury linens, whirlpool bathtub in the Queen room!, and a tasty, nutritious breakfast provided every morning. The Annex Garden is in a gracious, yet casual neighborhood, just... More

I have stayed at this B & B twice and it is excellent. Our host, Roberta, is gracious and makes a healthy, tasty and nutritious breakfast. It is located near Little Italy - lots of shopping and restaurants nearby and on a trolley line, so it's convenient to get to other parts of the city. I stayed in the king... More

We recently spent 5 nights at the Annex Garden B&B while attending our son's wedding and must say that staying in this beautiful historic house and being cared for by our wonderful host, Roberta, made our special occasion even more special. My wife and I had the Murray room while our other son had the Willan room and it could... More

We just discovered Roberta's beautiful B&B just around the corner from where our daughter lives. Unfortunately, our daughter is moving, but we may have to continue returning to Annex Garden. We stayed in the Murray room, which is fantastic. Especially the private balcony! Breakfast was delicious and we had a great time visiting with Roberta and the other guests, and... More

We spent 4 nights at the Annex Garden Bed and Breakfast Suites. We chose the 3 rd floor apartment with the option of one breakfast in our suite. The apartment is very large, modern and comfortable. We felt very much at home. Please note that it is 3 flights of steep stairs if carrying heavy luggage. During our visit we... More

We are pleased that our guests enjoyed their stay at Annex Garden. We did want to note that the "short term rental" option at a lower price does not include breakfast or daily cleaning. However, guests that stay at least four days receive a complimentary self-catered breakfast in their suite the first morning, something that is not normally done for... More

Echoing previous reviews, Roberta is the consummate hostess and her historic property is beautifully appointed. Our 3rd floor unit was immaculate and fully equipped. The house is on a quiet street but close to many lively restaurants on College and in the Annex, and right on the College streetcar line. Will definitely return for future Toronto visits.

Built in 1898, this home has been beautifully restored, with modern facilities, lighting and heating. The main floor features common rooms, restored wood panelling and intricately designed wood floors. Roberta, host and owner, has tastefully decorated the house with a mix of antique, family and modern furniture and an absolutely outstanding art collection. The King Room on the second floor... Just lovely. Steps from Kensington Market and China Town, right on the edge of Little Italy. Fantastic room, so comfortable! I loved the coffee/tea/water selection right by the door. Breakfast was a gourmet treat. I also fell in love with the two furry residents.

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
