This hotel is just a short shuttle ride from the airport, if they are not there to pick you up use curtacy phone and they will arrive very quickly. The hotel is clean with attentive staff, and the rooms are OK. I ate in the bar and agian the food was OK but nothing speacial, the staff seemes very busy... More

This hotel is right near the airport, which is great. There is nothing fancy about this hotel, and as the previous reviewer stated, it is no longer the premium hotel in TBay. The room is spacious and has what you need. It is definitely business geared, so if you are there on business, you should be well cared for. My... More

Years ago this hotel was considered the best in Thunder Bay, today no more. It was clean and it was quiet and the bed was comfortable enough, however there was very little to make it stand out for us. The room was rather austere, very little attention paid to making it attractive. The shower was not very hot and had... More

Problems at check in, one elevator out of service. Stayed in a renovated room (extra charge) told the unrenovated rooms are tired and old. Waited 20 minutes for breakfast to come out. Stayed serveral nights after first night - notice the airport noise, buzzing and truck noise at times. Hotel seems a bit tired and worn out. More

The Vallhalla lobby looks very nice. The elevator had garbage on the floor. We were on the 5th floor, supposedly the "best" as there were no vacant rooms on the other floors. Price $165. Halls were very dirty....room was clean but needed to have the carpet vaccumed. Could not see any reason why this room was rated as one the... More

Next to the airport...the only real plus point about the hotel. Pretty well insulated as well, and you don't hear air traffic. Very dated hotel though, requiring major revamps to carpeting and room furnishing. More

Dear Traveller, We have lot's of bang for your buck. We have free access to Thunder Bay's Athletic Club just across the street. Thunder Bay's newest and best Steaklounge R25, Great Pool, lovely courtyard, and as you know very pet freindly. Our rooms are exceptionally clean, and they now all have flat screen tv's. Thank you for your comments, bill More

When you finally find you room at the Valhalla Inn (which is a sprawling facility with several wings and no direction from the front desk staff) you will not find any foolish frills like a refrigerator or a microwave or an invitation to a free breakfast. Since we were travelling with our dog we asked for a ground floor room... More

I recently stayed at this hotel for a conference. The banquet facilities were fantastic. The staff were extremely professional and the food was excellent. My room was on the first floor so it was very convenient but tired. Everything was clean but not more than a 4 star at best. I would stay here again if I had to use... More

I have stayed at this hotel a variety of times over the years and find it a bit over rated. It does have a good location because of it's proximity to the airport. In my opinion this property is overpriced compared to the market and it;s competitors. There apparently is an upgrade going on to the facilities, but our room... More

Thank you for your feedback, We, like most hotels and airlines do, charge more as we become full. If you book online, your confirmation will tell you the different rates that apply during your stay. If you book via our reservation line, you would most likely get the same rate for your entire stay. I appologise for any misunderstanding. Bill More

Reservations made via business travel agency: Check In was OK. Use to having a front desk explain the hotels points of interest, pool, exercise room, business center, lounge/restaurant, etc. Nothing was freely provided and had to play 20 questions to learn basic hotelier information. Only received "Last Name, your credit card....your in room 302, elevator to the left" The room... More

yes our 3rd floor rooms are dated, but we are continuing to renovate. We have upgraded the tv's in all our rooms, and are upgrading the bedding to duvets. We do have 2 floors of large completley renovated rooms. These are the largest and best rooms in Thunder Bay. Our next project is to renovate the 2nd floor. This will... More
