I stayed in this hotel for 9 nights with my friend where we came on holiday to Thunder bay. I picked this hotel because the price was very cheap and the owner provided me with a discount due to the amount of how long i was staying. I have never stayed in a better hotel than this one. The cleaners... More

I was paying with cash and the front desk guy asked for a $50 deposit. After checking out and returning the key. I tried to claim my $50 deposit back, the front desk person would not give me the $50 back. He informed me the $50 deposit is part of my room fee. Do not pay cash as they will... More

When we arrived the pre booking was not done - even though it had been paid in advance, thank goodness they did have a room available. Desk clerk took payment again. When I phoned to try to explain the owner became very agitated and accused me of trying to get away without paying. (I had paid twice.) This is no... More

We stopped in for a night with a family that has four young children ( 10 to 3). We called for a price on a room with two beds that was $79 all in, when checking in, it jumped to $100., when asking for a receipt was told it should I've been $125 and technically had two rooms. No amenities... More

Situated in a pretty quiet residential area. The room was very clean and adequately comfortable for two people. They accommodated our two large dogs and there was a nice park just around the corner for walks. Very dated and the pillows had some kind of crinkly liner, but a respectable place to sleep.

Went for business trip to Thunder Bay Dec 2014. My room had a queen size bed with TV, fridge, microwave, clean washroom, free WIFI, free coffee in lobby. The room price was very reasonable since I went at peak time. Location was excellent close to airport, shopping malls and restaurants. Only 55 km away from the USA border. No lineups... More

I stayed at the Kingsway on a business trip for a few days. It was a 5 minute drive from the airport and close to restaurants. I reserved the room beforehand with the Owner, who was very helpful when I arrived to advise information about Thunder Bay. The free wifi was great for me to continue to finish work in... More

Odd smell. Not bad...just odd. Rather out-dated, and there were stains on the carpet. Walls are thin. Had to call the front desk to have the guy next door turn down his TV. The smoke detector is missing the battery. On the good side - wifi works fine, TV was decent, and the linens were clean. And when I called... More

Stopped here for one night on the way through Thunder Bay. It's close to the highway and several restaurants. Room was clean and decent enough. Newer tv and wifi worked great. A decent hotel for a short stay. Only downfall was the thin walls as the person next door was quite the snorer.

Spent a night at the Kingsway this past weekend, and it was beyond expectation. The room was clean and well maintained, the wifi was stable, and the water pressure/temperature in the plumbing was consistent. The staff was polite and friendly, even when we foolishly locked ourselves out of the room. If you're looking for an affordable place to stay a... More
