We have just returned from a four night stay at Ambercroft and were very pleased. Our room was clean and comfortable. Each breakfast consisted of yogurt with fresh fruit, a delicious protein filled entree, homemade muffins and Layla curls, fruit juice and fresh brewed coffee. Hostess Lianne and chef Julie were gracious and accommodating. The guest kitchen provides bottled water,... More

Leanne has put a lot of thought into Ambercroft and it shows. The room we were in was most pleasant. It had room to sleep, room to sit, places to put things, well-supplied bathroom, no troubles with temperature of room. We haven't had a room this perfect in a long time. Common areas pleasant as well as breakfast room. So... More

We stayed for 2 days during a catchup visit to see more Stratford plays than we could work in during the summer. Leanne and Julie provide a warm welcome, a breakfast out of the ordinary, and very well-kept rooms. Not surprisingly it tends to be booked ahead so reservations are a must. Strong positive recommendation.

The rooms at Ambercroft are cozy, the beds and pillows are grand, the hot water is strong and plentiful and a surprise-of-the-day-pastry is set out every afternoon in the "brew-your-own" little kitchen that is available to all guests. (Leeanne stocks an impressive variety of Single Brew Cups for tea, coffee and cocoa.) Ambercroft is ideally located within easy walking distance... More

We recently stayed for one night (would have loved to stay longer) and were very impressed with how extremely clean the room was and how well laid out the house was. They have a kitchenette for guests with coffee/tea and delicious lemon water available. Our room was #2 (the Spring Room) which was beautifully decorated in green/purple and had a... More

Very comfortable beds. Enjoyed sitting on the verandah, listening to the bird songs. Easy stroll (with my 93 year old father in a traveller wheelchair) to nearby restaurants (eg Rene's Bistro) and shops (eg Monforte cheese, Rheo Thompson chocolates). Would definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ambercroft. Leanne, the new owner, is an outstanding host, welcoming, knowledgeable about Stratford and the Festival, and possessing a delightful sense of humour. Her sister, Julie, prepares delicious breakfasts that are beautifully presented, filling but not excessive, and healthy. The house has been thoughtfully restored. There are four spacious bedrooms to choose from.... More

My friends and I have been staying at Ambercroft for a girls' weekend for years. Now under new ownership, I can say that Leanne McPhie (our Host) is doing a wonderful job! She's made some changes to be even more welcoming for guests. There is a large living room, library and kitchenette available for guests, as well as outdoor seating... More

We had such a wonderful stay :-) I surprised my husband with an overnight at Ambercroft after a show and the owner and her sister, who is also the cook, were incredibly friendly and clearly love having a bed and breakfast. We were welcomed with a box of chocolates from Rheo Thompson in honor of my husbands birthday, which went... More

We stayed over night at the Ambercroft in order to take in one of Stratford's many productions, 42nd Street in July 2012. The Ambercroft is located on a quiet street, minutes from downtown Stratford and approximately 20 mins walk to the theater. It is a quaint, historic period house that makes you feel right at home the minute you walk... More
