I went to the Albert Street Inn with two friends for a girls weekend. No outlet in the bathroom, no parking, room not clean, furniture old and worn, beds uncomfortable, you could see through the pillow cases, airconditioning uncontrollable, bathroom surround cracked and dirty looking, towels were threadbare and frayed, lampshades torn, missing lightbulbs, dirty towels left in the bathroom,... Unfortunately booked this place using Stratford festival ticket agent without reviewing reviews. Agent may be getting kickbacks because this place is terrible-- peeling paint, dirty moldy bathroom, and even unclean sheets. Do not be fooled by its advertised "recent renovation". Would never stay here again despite good location.

On line, the Albert Street Inn in Stratford Ontario would seem to have it all -- charm, hominess, decent price, central location. Having stayed there I can report it has....location. Instead of charm and hominess there's shabbiness and desultory service. How long must one stand at a front desk before someone shows up? The rooms are clean, the beds decent,... More

I've stayed in worse hotels, but they were behind the Iron Curtain or in Gimli Manitoba. Naked bulbs in the light fixtures. Air conditioners so loud that they awaken guests by turning off. Plungers in the bathrooms (and yes, I had to plunge my own toilet). Towels so threadbare that they simply tore apart when used. A WiFi router that... More

My husband and I stayed at the Albert St. Inn for a night when we went to Stratford for the Shakespeare Festival. The best part was the staff -- they answered our questions about parking both over email before our arrival and again when we got there. They were helpful and friendly with all our questions (maps, directions, etc.) and... More

Never again would we stay at this Inn. The most unpleasant stay at a Stratford inn that we've ever experienced in all our stays in Stratford. Only nine parking spaces available to the guests? Finding out after we arrived that the parking is a ten minute walk away! The rooms were disgusting, windows painted shut, dirty small wash room that... More

We were excited about the prospect of spending the night at a historic inn in downtown Stratford. While the location was great for walking to local restaurants, shopping and theatres, we were disappointed to find that the rooms were a bit on the shabby side. The bed was comfortable and clean, but the furniture was the cheap plastic veneered type... More

We recently stayed here to go see a play at Stratford. I had read some of the negative reviews but the location was too good to pass. Glad I did. It is not fancy or recently updated . The room is not large but had a bed, bathroom, tv AC. It was clean. I would stay here again. We parked... More

Goodness! Such a terrible title. We stayed at the "otherwise pretty darn OK" Albert St. Inn during the bumpy change in ownership. Of course, it was during the fire alarm that we learned of the change. The employees leave at 8:00pm (we were told this at check-in). "What could go wrong?" we thought smugly. Things got a little dicey when,... More

Arrival: Pleasant enough desk staff, but gave little information about the hotel. Room: There were no staff at the desk, possibly in the hotel, from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am. The room had a queen size bed, dilapidated furniture and less than 12 inches between the bed and the walls, and the bed and the dresser at the end. It... More
