Two friends and I stayed at Backstage B and B over the Thanksgiving weekend. We had a great time. The room was perfect for three people, everything was clean and nicely appointed. The breakfast was GREAT - lots and lots of food! Food allergies/intolerances were accommodated without a hitch. Karen and her mother were warm, welcoming and interested in our... More

5 of us stayed at the Backstage for a girls' weekend away and could not have asked for better accommodations or a friendlier hostess. In addition to plenty of space in the rooms themselves we were able to enjoy a glass of wine on the patio in the afternoon and then chat late into the evening in the comfortable guest... More

We stayed in a large room, with lots of windows and a big bathroom. TV, fridge, coffee maker and fireplace also in the room. Very clean and comfortable. Karen Stanton is an excellent hostess, even making our dinner reservations for us, months in advance of our visit. Breakfasts were well thought out, substantial and everything was homemade. Our room was... More

I have been coming to the Shakespeare Festival for many years now and this one is the best I have ever stayed at for adults and teenagers. The hostess makes you feel like family. All the theaters, shopping and restaurants are within walking distance if you have no joint problems and I enjoy the walks through the quiet neighborhoods and... More

I originally chose the Backstage because I needed a room for 3 (myself and my 2 teenagers). The location is not too scenic, with vacant buildings across the street, but it's still ideal as it's a super-quick walk to the Festival theatre and the river, not far to the Tom Patterson, and a reasonable walk to downtown and the Avon... Outstanding location - 5 minutes walk from the Festival Theatre and about 10 minutes walk from downtown. Very pleasant host and outstanding breakfast. A bit noisy because the B&B is located on a main thoroughfare, but the excellent location and warm welcome more than made up for a bit of traffic noise. Our room was very large - lots of... More

We just returned home from a 3 night stay at the Backstage B&B in Stratford. We could not have been happier. Room #2 was the perfect set-up for our family (mom, dad, teenage son) with a queen bed and a single bed. The room was spacious, immaculate, well-stocked with tea, coffee, hot cocoa, fridge, microwave, tv, robes, and plenty of... More

My wife and I were staying in room 1 and our adult daughter in room 2. Both rooms had excellent mattresses and were nicely furnished to give a homelike atmosphere. There was also a mini fridge and a coffee machine in the room and of course a flat-screen TV. The bathrooms were very spacious with tub and shower. There was... More

We all found not much hospitality or interaction. The rooms are sparse and barely decorated, not what we've become used to in Stratford B&B's. There were no magazines, or informationabout Stratford, other than the Stratford festival brochure. There was tea and coffee in each room, but in the closet!! It would have been nice to have it in the room,... More

My partner and I signed up for a short one night silent retreat/meditation. We stayed in room 3 - with a separate entrance and a den. It was really nice. Karen is very friendly and we had great discussions in our consultations. The guided meditation was very relaxing. The silent retreat was an interesting experience (we got a taste of... More
