was here for a week for a conference-the decor was a little "worn" and tired, but the facilities themselves met our needs. the security and cleaning staff were very friendly-think they should send some of the counter people back to " personality school" loads of amenities within a 10 minute walk (restaurants, groceries, zellers, walmart),but if you want to walk to the totem pole... more

Rooms were a little on the dirty side, staff weren't the friendliest, the location has issue (far from downtown - walking to the city centre was a good one-hour walk, which I ended up doing because the bus service was infrequent)... Hotel catering services for the business conference I participated in was the only redeeming quality of this place, and... more

I never write reviews.... this time i had too! I made the mistake of assuming this was still a Best Western.... its NOT. Don't stay here, I mean it! I travel all over Ontario for business and this has to be the dirtiest place I've even been to... I slept with a Towel on my pillow and didn't shower because... more

I write this review 30 minutes after check-in. Here is what happened in that time: 1) Some goofball kid at the check-in desk gave us our room keys and directed us to the room. I say "goofball" because he was nice but sloppily dressed and not very professional. 2) We asked why this was no longer a Best Western. Said... more

We had been coming here for about 7 yrs and has been "ok". This year was HORRIBLE! My family and I travel all over North America for my husband's business. When we checked into this place, there was something "foreign" on the floor of our room. The maid came and said "oh, it's just food", like that's supposed to make... more

We had been looking forward to this stop in our trip but were so sadly disappointed that we uprooted and moved to the Holiday inn. The short review is that this is a tired, old hotel that promises much and delivers little. We changed hotels and will not be back. My family and I decided on the Great Northern based... more

I booked my stay on expedia 2 weeks prior to my trip. Once there the counter staff was helpful and courteous. They immediately gave me the type of room I booked. They told me about the hotel services and where the best places to park. The room was well furnished and the furnishings were relatively newer. The shower head worked... more

When I booked this hotel on Jan. 5/08 it was a Best Western. When I got to the hotel, it was called Great Northern, and had taken over on Jan 25/08. Honouring my booking was the worst thing I could have done. A matter of fact reply to my question "what happened to Best Western and why was I not... more

I stayed in this hotel for a group tour and while initially there were problems getting a room (a problem that the group leader caused) the BW took good care of it in style. The room was two double beds, they were very comfortable. The bathroom was large and the faucet was easily workable. Our room was near the lobby,... more
