When we first entered the room, we were excited about its large size and the fresh paint. As it turned out the room was very clean and well maintained but the bathroom fixtures are very old. The toilet needed 2 flushes each time and the shower continually flashed hot and cold. The hotel is centrally located and easy to get... More

From early fall to late spring, I stay there a minimum of 8 days per month. I have had little issues but nothing that would make me want to go to another place. The staff is courteous, its private, secluded and far enough off the road that you don't hear each passing car. This price is very competitive and overall... More

Thank you so much for your review Paul. We appreciate all feedback as it is nice to know when we're doing well, and like you said, knowing when someone is dissatisfied allows us the opportunity to address the issue. We pride ourselves on being a clean and affordable motel, tucked back from the highway. We are very happy to continually... More

It seems that every September I'm in the Soo for a night, so I stay here. Why? Because it's clean and inexpensive, that's why. Location is great, eats are walking distance, pick your poison. Did I mention it was clean? And that the price is right? Yeah, I'll be back again next year. :-)

Thank-you for your review! At the Northlander Motel, we pride ourselves on our quality rooms and fair prices. Decided on this motel based on previous reviews and the fact that there was a room with 3 double beds - no need for the sometimes dicey "fold up cot". 2 were great but the one nearest the door was overly soft & saggy. One bed was in a separate room which could be a plus but the ancient window... More

Thank you so much for staying at our motel. We are very grateful for all customer feedback. The issues that you had with Room 16, such as the comfort of the one bed, and the loudness of the fan and air conditioning unit, are currently being addressed so that we can better accomodate the needs of our guests in the... My wife and I recently stayed a night at the Northlander on our motorcycle circle tour of Lake Superior. Nothing special from the outside and the parking lot could use a bit of a re-pave. The inside of the room was average for this type of motel and was clean overall. Bed and pillows were ok. We stayed in room... More

We were travelling unawares on the big fall leaf viewing weekend without reservations. We stopped at a few hotels but they were completely booked. One of the rival hotel receptionists sent us to The Northlander with the comment that it was small but clean. We were very pleased: clean room, large room, spacious bathroom. Amenities such as a refrigerator and... More

Beds were comfortable, clean and spacious rooms. Decent price as well. As we are travelling across the country, this motel was our fave so far. The price was right!
