This place has a great website & snappy brochures, but it is over-priced and in much need of repair . Not a resort by any stretch of the imagination. We stayed in a "Long House" room which had been" totally" renovated. That meant - spraying taupe paint over old masonite paneling, even spraying it onto the hangars which were hooked... more

Stayed 2 nights with my husband, parents, brother and sister. Our room was very nicewith 2 double beds. The bedding was very comfortable and overall everything was spotless. The one weird thing about the rooms were the balconies. It was one big balcony that extended across the whole floor. I did not feel easy about leaving the patio door open... more

We stayed here on a golf and stay deal. The golf course was good, but not great. The service and food in the bar was wonderful. The service at breakfast was wonderful the next morning. The room was clean and temperature was perfect. We had all the amenities that we were promised. It was a nice stay. more

We had a wonderful time - beautiful grounds, golf course, private beach and nice, comfy rooms. Will definitely return! more

Our Youth Hockey Club was participating in The Silver Sticks Finals Tournament. Nestled among the pines and blowing snow was this lovely resort. In the summer an 18 hole golf and boating resort replaces the foot high snow and -24C cold. It is a rustic lodge like place well maintained undergoing an 1.8 million dollar renovation . The check in... more

COST well, as with anything else, depends how much you pay. i got my deal through travelzoo and i paid $95 for the night and that included either 2 rounds of golf or 2 breakfasts in the swanky dining room (we took the breakfasts - valued at $11.95 each). i was very very happy with the place for that. ROOM... more

Our "Deluxe room" was a disappointment. It was dark, had stuffy air, very old dirty carpet ...........in general, it was disgusting. We paid $189/night plus taxes and gratituities (NO complimentary breakfast or anything included...nothing!). The mini-fridge was micro size and the ironing board was stained. The bathroom is outdated with filthy shower curtains and was not clean, I had to... more

Our room was a big disappointment. Old, worn out bedding, pillows that looked uneven and ancient. Towels big enough to wrap a 5 month baby, rough and unpleasant on the skin. The blanket on the bed was also very rough and the decor completely outdated. The Clubhouse is nice looking, but the service is terrible and the food greasy and... more

Stayed here recently having seen their website and assuming that it reflected reality. Oh! Oh! If you like dark rooms; small noisy air conditioners; dark corridors; ripped bed spreads; promise of WiFi in the room and not available; worn out bed blankets; etc., then this is the place to stay. The cost was ridiculous for the value provided ($169/night EP).... more

My wife and I were given a certificate for the Oakwood for our wedding, so we decided to use it for our first anniversary. When we arrived, we were told that there were many hockey teams there so they wanted to upgrade us to one of the small cabins. It was a 150 dollar upgrade from our room. We thought...cool!... more
