I expected more for my money. Location is excellent but this looks like a retirement home turned into a hotel. We found pet hair on the room carpet and the TV was a 1970's Zenith. Bed linens looked old and worn. On the other hand, I must admit the staff was helpful. Be careful, the photos on their website are... more

I'm not sure why this hotel had so many negative reviews, but we stayed for 2 nights just after Winterlude and we had a lovely experience. The location was fantastic (close to the market, parliament and museums) and quiet too. The room was bright and of a fair size, with new laminate wood flooring, a small kitchenette, and a table... more

The Byward Blue Inn was a choice we would make again. The room rates very reasonable, the rooms very clean, the service was very friendly. There were very few extras in the rooms, but the staff were very accommodating and always provided what was needed. Our room faced the street and the only complaint was the noise factor of passersby.... more

Although the Inn had a great location and the rooms were adequate, it lacked in customer satisfaction. On the 2nd day of our stay, we did not receive our housekeeping service, our remote control for the television was not working, there was a fly in my breakfast one morning, and there was some confusion regarding the underground parking and when... more

If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel in a good location, this hotel is for you, but remember the old adage, " you get what you pay for ". There were no toileteries, not even a miniature bar of soap. No hair drier. One hand towel between two people. There was no bath mat, so the hand towel became... more

The best thing about this B&B was the location. The high speed internet was good too. It was clean when we arrived but each day there was some deficiency in the cleaning. One day we received no cleaning AT ALL. The staff were very apologetic and immediately brought the missing items such as towels, shampoo coffee etc. The parking garage... more

The best that can be said for the ByWard Blue Inn is that it is in a great location, close to the ByWard Market and Museums and Galleries. My experience at this Inn went from bad to worse. I checked in and went up to my room -- let me start out by saying it looked nothing like the photos... more

I'm not sure what the people who wrote negative reviews of this place had in mind. Ottawa is expensive, especially the downtown area, and in the By Ward Market this is even more true. To get a hotel room for less than $100 at peak times (we were here over the Canada Day weekend) is phenomenal, especially one that's clean... more

In mid-May, my wife and I spent a week in Ottawa during the Tulip Festival. We chose the Byward Blue Inn largely based upon TripAdvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. It is clean, with a friendly staff, and quite comfortable. It's not fancy, but it has everything you need (small fridge, microwave, coffeemaker). A light continental breakfast is delivered to... more

We were disappointed with this Inn. There were just a handful of parking spots and they were very tight and difficult to get in and out of. If you did manage to get one of them, you had to stop at the garage door, then go inside the hotel, through the lobby and down to the basement to open the... more
