My sister and I wanted to get away for a quick 'girls weekend trip' and we had a great time staying at the Gasthaus Switzerland Inn. Sabina and her family were very hospitable and accomodating. The location of the inn was in walking distance to various amenities and attractions like the parliament buildings, rideau mall and the market. more

My 3 day stay at the Gasthaus Inn was absolutely perfect and I only wish I could've stayed longer. We stayed in one of the "honeymoon suites", witha King bed. Our expererience was incredible, Sabina(?)(the owner) was simply "the best". She was very helpful and adorable, our room was clean, beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, hot and scrumptious. A wonderful home away from home. This was my second stay at the Gasthaus and it does not disappoint. Friendly and helpful hosts and a wonderful breakfast to help start your day in Ottawa. Under no circumstance should anyone stay here. They claim to be a bed and breakfast, or possibly an inn, but they barely qualify as a hostel. I haven't stayed in a place this grimey since I backpacked through Peru when I was 22. They were unquestionably overpriced. Stayed for five nights while on holiday in August and found it was a great choice. It is close (2 to 3 blocks) to either the Byward market or the Rideau shopping centre and the transit hubs. Was able to park my car and get around by foot or bus and not worry about anything happening to my car. Ottawa... more

My husband and i were very dissapointed with this establishement. We reserved one of their best rooms with a king size bed, only to find a less then average room with more like a queen size bed . To top it off, the room was dark , damp and cold, the only nice thing about it was a jacuzzi bath... more
