Though this hotel and it rooms are slightly dated, you can't beat it for location. It's within walking distance of all the attractions Ottawa has to offer. We had a suite, with kitchen, lounge/diner and a bedroom with two comfortable queen size beds. The suite decor was dated but I could,nt fault it for cleanliness. Would stay here again just... more

We stayed for a Saturday night during Winterlude. The location is unbelievable. It is walking distance to everything including all the attactions, shopping and the Byward market. The staff was very friendly and there was at least 3 people at the front desk when we checked in and out. My husband called this a hockey tourney hotel. It's older, clean... more

This is a great location - right in the heart of downtown and steps away from Parliament Hill. The main lobby area is nice however our room was run down, definitly showing its age. Also, the bathroom was quite run down and needs updating. The place could probably do with a good overall makeover. Pros - free internet access in... more

The front desk manager was great! They were out of non-smoking suites the first night we arrived, so she agreed to move us in one the next day, and only charged us for a regular room. The hotel is well situated, especially if you want to take the bus...or sleep to the sound of them. You cannot really escape them,... more

This hotel is old and crappy and we were pretty disappointed. They parked our car in a way where we were blocked in and could leave if we wanted to. Then after a certain time the valet desk closes so you couldn't get your car out even if it was more accessible. Dark, creepy parking lot. Musty stained room with... more

Please don't let the staff touch your vehicle... The hotel may be outdated but it offers a good price and a great location. But listen to what happened to my husband and I... The staff wanted us to turn in our keys so they could move around vehicles in their incredibly small parking lot and we refused, we left them... more

I recently stayed two nights at the Capital Hill Hotel. Overall, the hotel is pretty run-down and drabby. The lobby was unimpressive, as was my room. I was in a very spacious room with two queen beds. The bed was comfortable. However, there were a few annoying things about my stay at this hotel. In order to get the water... more

I stayed in a suite with 2 queens and a sofabed for 1 weeknight with my wife and 2 grown sons. The location is just 2 blocks from the canal, 3 from Parliament Hill, and 4 from the market area. The living room of the suite was quite large. The dining area had a boardroom style table and chairs, and... more

When my fiancee and I decided to visit Ottawa as part of a mini summer getaway, we decided upon the Capital Hill Hotel armed with only the opinions of those here as our guidelines of what we would/should expect. After all was said and done, I can honestly say our experience was one full of positives. Fantastic value! There isn't... more

My adult daughters and I stayed at the Capital Hill for two nights this past weekend during the Tulip Festival and Victoria Day weekend. I was expecting run down and a little dingy and that's pretty much what we got. However, the room was clean enough and the service we received from the staff was super-pleasant. It was some of... more
