I always stay at The Lord Elgin when I am in Ottawa for business and have always enjoyed my time at the hotel. However, last week I was so impressed with the customer service offered that I felt compelled to write a review. I mentioned to Christopher (one of the front desk attendants/concierge) that my mum had called to let... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Lord Elgin Hotel, which was very well reviewed by many travelers. I was a bit surprised that this hotel does not offer WiFi - but rather a wired connection, good for only 1 computer at a time. When we arrived we were told that we couldn't park our car under the hotel because of... More

The hotel was clean, nice, and very quiet. Amenities were average, room size was on the small side (King room/park side view), but adequate. Our only complaint was that there was no free wireless internet in the entire hotel, this includes the attached Starbucks. We could use the computers in the Business Center, but with iPhones not having wireless kept... More

We appreciate the time you have taken to provide us with your comments during your stay with us here in Ottawa. Upon reading your e-mail we had our maintenance team attend to the toilet seat in that room, which has since been replaced. Regarding the wifi, we are in the process of pricing out the installation throughout the hotel and... More

It's an older building (1941, per the cornerstone outside) and I could hear any time a toilet was flushed above/below/around my room. Weird that I couldn't hear the pipes other times (showers, water running, etc.). The room was relatively clean but obviously housekeeping had been in a rush. The TV remote was DISGUSTING and I had to clean it thoroughly... More

Stayed at the Lord Elgin with friends for a conference at the National Arts Centre. Have enjoyed two trips to this hotel now and would stay again. Didn't like the fact that I had to pay $10 a night for wired-only internet, but that was an afterthought. The rooms are about average size, but with the convenience of being so... More

The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable, I received a complementary copy of the Globe and Mail on Saturday morning. Couldn't really ask for more!

After spending a weekend in Ottawa at the Lord Elgin last year, we said we would definitely return again this year. Well, we just returned from 4 days in Ottawa, (3 nights at the Lord Elgin), and I have to say, our visit was even better than last time. A couple of days prior to us leaving for our weekend,... More

My boyfriend and I went to the Lord Elgin to celebrate our anniversary. We booked the romance package, which came with a few extras in order to make us feel "pampered" during our stay. The main problem was that those extras were nowhere to be found when we entered our (obviously not-yet-prepared) room. Someone came about 10-15 minutes after we... More

My wife and I stayed here for a week and found the service and convenience to be the hotel's greatest assets. The tone of the place is more about the business traveler and the business center's free internet access was welcome. A Starbucks also helps when the pricy buffet breakfast is not desired; the buffet is very good and for... More
