Fleeing the maddening crowds after a day in Niagra Falls, we dig into the Internet and come upon a too-cool-to-believe bed and breakfast in a village, Niagra-on-the-Lake, Notle for short, on the southern shore of Lake Ontario, in Canada. Never having heard of the town, wary of the hyphenated Nirvanas, like our many Rhapsody--by-the-Seas, we roll warily past shopping strips,... More

************************ From: BJ. August 2015 ************************ What an incredible experience at Ranger's Retreat. Brian and Jan are amazing. They're the ultimate hosts, easy to talk to and filled with such great humor. They're not intrusive. I arrived with my sister-in-law and felt immediately welcomed and comfortable in their home. The house is huge ( 5000 sq ft ?? ) and... More

This was our first b&b experience and we had our hesitations of what this experience would be like. Generally we stay in hotels when we visit NOTL, but preferred staying at Ranger's Retreat. Brian and Jan are great hosts, both highly experienced hospitality professionals. I sense they are always looking for ways to improve because they truly care and enjoy... More

Our son had made the reservation for us to stay here for 2 reasons. The number one reason was because of the reviews he had read (so keep 'em coming) while the second was he knew we had never stayed at a B&B and thought this would be the perfect oportunity. I have to say the reviews are "true to... More

Brian and Jan have a lovely B&B in Niagara on the Lake. The gardens are lush and very well kept. You feel completely relaxed to be here. It's a shame we only booked 1 night as we didn't have time to use the saltwater pool! Brian's tour included a story behind each piece of art in the B&B, which shows... More

Brian and Jan have cultivated a completely unique B&B experience that's unparalleled to any other of it's kind. From the modernism in the homes decor itself to the comfort within the amenities; these two gentleman offer a warm, homely touch to a 5 Star Experience. A welcoming environment to all from far and wide if you are a king of... More

A small (number of people who can stay) B&B but in a large modern house with a great pool. Room very well decorated with great furniture. Brian and Gian's experience in Europe show in everything they do. We've been a number of times. The last was for a cooking weekend. Great. While this breakfast was amazing, it was only equaled... All the previous reviews have explained the magnificence of this B&B. We stayed for 3 nights in August. Breakfasts are what you would expect from a five star hotel only better. Pretty much everything on the table is done original from scratch by Brian. Brian and Jan were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to accomodate our needs.... More

My friend had previously visited this B&B and really enjoyed meeting and knowing the owners Brian and Gian. Each room is decorated with beautiful pieces and furniture from Europe. This B&B felt like I was at a European retreat, exquisite decor and excellent breakfast served. They made us feel like home, and had the opportunity to take a swim in... More

Brian and his B&B was great. The room and common areas are really nice. We enjoyed watching the DVD from his 900 movies collection during the evening with a bottle of wine, while my husband also liked the coffee table book selection in the living room. When we came we were welcomed with 2 espresso shots. Brian has cookies, chocolates,... More
