As I was travelling from Wasaga Beach to Niagara-on-lake for a family anniversary party, I needed a place to stay for one night. The weekend happened to be the Wine Festival so it was difficult to find a hotel with a vacancy. The Anchorage Motel was available so I immediately booked a room through the Chamber of Commerce. It was... More

The anchorage motel seems to have lost its anchor and is floundering in a sea of deterioration. We checked into the motel with mixed feelings. A few recent positive reviews suggested that there had been improvements made and hotel management were making an effort to ensure that at least, the beds were clean and comfortable and the towels and face... We were to be at the Shaw festival at 2 pm for a play so we were glad to get in by 1pm into our room. It is a short walk to the Shaw Festival theatre from this motel so we don't have to pay for parking at the Shaw which is $10 btw. We stayed at this motel before... More

I stayed at this motel for 2 nights. Checking-in was challenging. We arrived at 8pm on a Friday evening and the office was closed. After making 3 phone calls to various numbers that were left for after-hours check-in, someone finally arrived at the motel to give us our room keys. The staff were very pleasant. The rooms are small and... More

I'm disappointed in the reviews I have read of this place since my first visit. I was almost swayed by them, but then my husband and I discovered for ourselves and we were pleasantly surprised. This was our second visit and we will return again. The rooms are small, but they are clean, they have a bed, bathroom, shower, what... More

we were impressed by the motel. we were in room 21 and had no problem with bugs, smells or wildlife. be prepared for the world's smallest shower but the towels were clean, as were the sheets. didn't use the A/C as the night was cool enough. it's in a great location as it's at the end of town so there... A group of 13 of us stayed here this week for three days. Mattresses new, no bites except mozzies. Staff lovely and accommodating. Walls thin, lots of hot water and clean towels. Good cleaning service. Downstairs rooms a bit dark and smelly, but clean. Upstairs better. Wifi [unlocked] can be caught by laptops from upstairs on the balcony. Tablets and... More

The motel built in the 50's backs onto a wooden, brushy area, I think that's where all the bugs come from. Around the air conditioner it is not sealed properly and you can see outside, stuffed Kleenex in holes and ten minutes later a huge ant was sitting on the side of the of air conditioner. Like the reviews before mine,... More

Just stayed there this past weekend and got bed bugs bites. Gross. The room was okay looking, and it was nice and close to town. but dealing with the bed bugs now since i have returned home will not be fun.

Damp smell on arrival but clean room, and first floor better than ground unless you want to have easy access to beer from your RV cos there's no fridge. Ground floor really poor but first better. If you live in a run down council estate then you'll be a tad impressed, if you are working class like me then you... More
