The inn is trying to be a first class hotel but fails miserably. The staff is "nice" but ineffective. Not professional. Not worth the price. This hotel is a mess we will not be staying here again. more

My husband and I live in London. We were looking for a nice place to stay at for our wedding night. We went with this Inn because it was well known in our area and we lived really close by. The whole night was wonderful! I loved the artwork, the wonderfully comfortable, staff was so nice and friendly, and I... more

My husband and I "eloped" to the Idlewyld Inn and it was absolutely perfect! Great wedding package, great service, great food, great room, etc. The wedding coordinator was friendly and helpful, and the entire wedding was planned with 5-6 emails and a couple phone calls. We were hoping for a relaxing, quiet weekend getaway for our wedding weekend and we... more

This Inn looks beautiful at first glance. The walls are thin, the staff seem not too happy, the cleanliness is only moderate. It hasn't been painted in quite a while. The food is not worth bothering-- fflat taste to most everything. We live in Old South and thought it would be nice to stay there. No wonder none of the... more

We had our wedding photos taken at the Idlewylde, and stayed that night. It was lovely, and the staff was very accomodating. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. Some of the antique decor is slightly worn, but the rooms have a lot more character and charm then you would get staying at the larger chain hotels available in the... more

This is a mediocre hotel charging way too much. Whilst the food is good the staff seem to be demoralized and disinterested. I would not recommend anyone to use this hotel. more

This old victorian home is a beautiful hotel and was wonderfully decorated for Christmas. However the the heating in the room wasn't working properly and it was a cold snowy night. Also the ceilings are rather thin you can hear the people above you and hear the plumbing from a number of rooms. This made sleeping a challenge and I... more

We notified staff that we would be arriving late from our wedding reception. We arrived at 2:15am, and rang the bell for 15 minutes. The night porter wasn't answering the door. We stayed somewhere else instead. We called the next morning - they said they wouldn't charge us, but didn't offer any apologies. After returning from a 2 week honeymoon... more

The Idlewyle Inn is a great find. My husband and I were there only over night but a wonderful adventure. Our room was spacious and just plain pretty. The dining experience was totally unbelievable delicious. Our diner was first rate. Our waitress was first rate too. The dessert was so good, I purchased some for home. I would definitely recommend... more

We stayed at the Idlewyld in late August. It is a beautiful historic building - worth going inside just to take a peek at one of the principal rooms. Our 3rd floor room was also lovely to look at, and spacious. However, (1) the radio on the clock radio did not work at all, not even static (a very cheap... more
