I spent two thoroughly enjoyable weeks in the Belvedere while working in Kingston. It is a hotel with character. It was great to relax in front of a roaring fire in the elegant lounge. My room was spacious (although the bathroom was small) and well-furnished with a comfortable bed. The breakfast, which I always ate in the lounge, was fine... more

Excellent government rates!! Unique rooms in this 1880 house converted to a hotel within walking distance of the downtown. My room was clean and roomy and was one of 2, in the place, that has a jacuzzi. Antique furniture and a comfortable bed. Despite being an old house it was quiet. What is advertised as a "light" breakfast is provided... more

The Belvedere is wonderful in so many ways. The breakfast however is horrible. You get a single english muffin, coffee, juice and 3 small slices of cheese. At least throw in a hard boiled egg or two. Maybe some ceraal and a banana. Fresh pastries from one of the lovely bakeries? I would rather have a table where I could... more

Our stay at the Belvedere came at the end of two weeks in Ontario where we stayed in some excellent hotels so it's not surprising that our expectations of this one were not realised. Our room was plenty large but in need of updating and decoration. The bathroom was small and the shower hard for my 6' 2" partner to... more

After reading the reviews of Hotel Belvedere, we chose to stay at Hotel Belvedere for 3 nights, helping our son to settle in at university. I was disappointed. I guess it's all about managing expectations. I suspect that one's overall impression with this hotel depends on the particular room one gets, ours was tucked away on the third floor, Rooms... more

My husband surprised with a quick trip to Kingston for an evening. We found Hotel Belvedere to be perfect. We were able to relax and rest (away from the kids for a night) and it was paradise. The staff was so pleasant, helpful and courteous. We were able to walk to the attractions and enjoyed the nightlife as well. We... more

We were delighted by the Belvedere in every respect. The location is ideal (quiet street with the riverfront a block over and downtown a short, pleasant walk away); the building is charming, spacious, and exquisitely decorated; our room, though fairly compact, was comfortable and aesthetic and included a small assortment of functional furniture; the staff were super friendly and accommodating;... more

I stayed only one night as I had some interviews at the hospital down the street. I had booked the smallest room but was actually put in a bigger room with a comfortable double bed at no extra cost. Despite the building being old, it was cozy and warm inside. I had to get up early in the morning for... more

Every room is different, all spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. We love the ambiance and the location. It's a wonderful place to stay in Kingston. more

Our room was very tired and in need of updating. The windows had masking tape on them, carpet very worn and somewhat dirty, shower did not drain well, and phone did not work properly and upon chekcing out we were never asked how our stay was. My husband had to go down to the front desk both mornings to ask... more
