When I called to book a room, the manager was incredibly rude. The room also had a peculiar smell that I couldn't put my finger on, sort of musty. Would not recommend unless you're prepared to deal with unpleasant staff and strange odours.

My first impression of this place was horrible and I wanted to leave. Since we already knew all the rooms in other hotels had no vacancies, we realized that we had no other options. Price was very reasonable, and this should have set off alarm bells. On first inspection, it was like we had walked into a time machine. Furniture... More

we stayed at the ascot this weekend past. the motel is more rustic cottage like than motel like. very retro. i thought it looked cute outside. it was very damp in the room, the floor in the bathroom was sticky from the dampness, the towels remained damp. daughter stayed at a friends home and we needed to have her change... We stayed here again last summer and it wasn't as good as we had remembered...I guess our tastes are changing...The room was stinky so we had to use an air freshener throughout our stay. The bed was uncomfortable so we didn't leave well rested. The shower drain was a little blocked and very slow to drain. But the thing that... More

Located on Lake Ontario well situated to downtown Burlington with shops and restaurants. Clean certainly not luxurious but for the budget minded you can't beat this place. Would be a great place to hang your hat during the many festivals in Burlington.

We stayed here for a weekend in June and enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and great value for the price ($60/night) Excellent location, right downtown- great for parking the car and walking everywhere. The room was very basic-no phones or fridge- but it was the perfect place to crash at night on a budget. The owner was friendly... More

A very well run 'Mom & Pop' motel that is clean, welcoming and quiet. Central to downtown Burlington and with easy access to QEW. Perfect if your on a budget and want too do day trips into Toronto and Niagara Falls. Nearby night clubs, restaurants and parks make the Ascot perfect for everyone.

In spite of the other favourable reviews on this site, either my wife and I were at a different Ascot motel in a different Burlington, Ontario (etc.,etc..) or we caught Tony and co. at a bad time. He was somewhat dismissive when we arrived; bordering on ill mannered and that was the most favorable part of our stay. The room... More

We have stayed here twice and are booked to stay again soon. The owners are charming, the place is clean and comfortable and a total throwback to the days of unpretentious, family owned and operated roadside motels. The lovely lake views are equally unpretentious and staying there reminds me of being at the cottage, only it's warmer, cleaner and quieter.... More

I've stayed at this place a few times in the last few years and it has never let me down. The small motel is right downtown in the heart of the city and close to shops, bars and pubs. One of the cleanest places I have ever stayed at and I've had my fair share of travels. Totally recommend this... More
