I was staying at the Clarion for an extended period of time as I was in town on business for a period of approximately four months. As one of the few inns that offer extended stay suites in the area and with a number of recommendations from some of the locals I decided to stay at the Clarion. Some highlights... more

My husband and I booked the Omar Kayam fantasy suite at this hotel for a weekend getaway. The room was absolutely huge and gorgeous! The room was done in an East Indian theme, i.e. fabric on the ceilings and draped on the walls around the jacuzzi tub. There were about four tiled steps up to a deep jacuzzi tub, with... more

I was very impressed when I walked in. I felt like I was walking back in time. Beautiful, high ceilings and an early 19th century feel to the lobby and the rooms with modern conveniences. The elevator had wood paneling, which added to the ambiance. My room was nice, beautiful bathroom. And there was a great Italian place down the... more

We recently went on a "girls getaway weekend" which is an annual trip for us. We try to stay at different hotels every year. We had booked a suite with 2 queen beds and were quoted a price. When we arrived the receptionist, who was not very friendly, immediately told us because we were 3 we had to pay an... more

We were two adults and a toddler. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The maid service did a good job although not overly friendly; they seemed to be quite put-off with our schedule: we would put out a "Do Not Disturb" sign and then stay in our room until early afternoon so that our 16 month-old could get her naps. The... more

I stayed in a 1-bedroom suite with a friend. I got the sofabed in the living room, which was surprisingly ok, even after three nights. It was a smoking room, as requested, and smelled a bit stale - but much better than the average smoking room. A few open windows and a bottle of Frebreze was all that was needed.... more

Quiet hotel. Not for kids. The floor in my room had a huge slant so watching TV was interesting. It's heated by steam radiators so there's no in room controls. Carpet was in desperate need of replacing. For the money it was OK. A few nice restaurants nearby. It's nice to see a bit of history preserved for a change... more

After reading all the fabulous reviews on this hotel, we were very dissappointed with the suite we had booked. The decor was far from elegant, bordering more on tacky and the room had a musty odour to it. On a positive note, the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and the breakfast at Cora's enjoyable. Will not be staying at... more

The current reviews accurately reflect this property: it has a funky charm, friendly and helpful staff and great prices -- for $95 CDN (the CAA/AAA rate) we got a suite with a spacious living room complete with wet bar, microwave, fridge and coffee maker and large TV, a separate king-sized bedded bedroom with second TV,full bath and a full breakfast... more

I stayed at the Hotel Quinte whilst on a cycling trip around Southern Ontario. They gave me a huge suite (bedroom with a king bed and large living room) and the price was right at CDN$95 (CAA rate). The Hotel Quinte (now a Clarion Inn) was originally built in 1895 and has been beautifully restored. The staff were very friendly... more
