We had a decent meal here at an affordable price. The service was average, the clientele were mostly local folks in coffee groups or family settings. It is clean, but in a greasy spoon sort of way, well scrubbed, but rustic, if you know what I mean. The seafood offering of clam strips and fried haddock was good, but a... More

Whilst driving toward Pictou, we phoned to see if the Inn had any spare rooms and was advised that there was only the one left, but it was of a higher rate. Room 12 is a very large cornered room located on the second floor, accessed by stairs only. The bed and pillows were comforftable (a blessing considering it was... More

This is a very beautiful inn and the owners went out of their way to accommodate us for our business meeting. A special Thank you both the owners for making my visit memorable because they were able to get me a tour of the Ship Hector which I have a family connection to. I can't thank them enough for going... More

It is a nice place to stay before taking the ferry across to PEI. In our corner room, we could have the windows open for cross ventilation or use the AC. It's close enough to walk 5 minutes to the harbor for dinner. It would be hard to find except that there is signage directing you as you drive into... More

For all of you hippies and wannabes, I do NOT mean funky in a positive way. Funky here comes in two stages: 1) SMELL, and 2) decor. Let me begin by telling you about the smell of the room. It was a combination of wet dog, mildew and I don't know what- perhaps a little "eau de Pictou"! It wasn't... More

My husband and I stayed at the Braeside Inn and were so pleased that we did. It is conveniently located near the Quay Hector, which is a must-see stop, even if you don't have any Scottish ancestors. The inn is charming and lovingly cared for. Our room was sparkling clean and comfortable, with the king-size bed decorated with Nova Scotia's... More

Very nice and charming. Location is great. Yes, a bit old but it is part of the charm. Very quiet and clean. Breakfast was continental but in a very nice dining room. All I wanted for a short stay. Very near from PEI ferry.

When we walked in the door, I was taken by how pretty the rooms were. Old fashioned came to mind. Our room was comfortable-the ultimate test-we slept well. It was spotless. The AC worked well. At first, I sat on the bed trying to figure out the faint sulfurous smell. Then I remembered the TA post about the pulp mill.... More

Staff treated us like gold. We booked our room late and we were only able to secure one nights lodgings but the day we checked out the staff let us park our Harley on their grounds and use their facilities to change and freshen up the next day. This allowed us to spend two very comfortable days at the festival.... More
