We had a great 4 night stay at Sal's during out stop in Halifax. The B&B is situated beautifully near the end of Herring Cove and is a reasonble drive into Halifax. Joan and Danny are accommodating hosts and the breakfasts were great. We stayed in the suite, which was spacious and nicely appointed. It was equipped with a full... More

Stayed at Sals August 7th and 8th 2014 at the start of our perfect Nova Scotia holiday and it was awesome. Located a short drive from Halifax, this picturesque bed and breakfast was our favourite spot. Sitting on the dock with a glass of wine after a busy day touring Halifax was so relaxing. Our room, a one bedroom apartment... More

My husband and I stayed at Sals for 6 days and it was great. We had to keep reminding ourselves we were at a B&B and not just visiting friends. We had the Eagles Nest suite and it was spacious and very quiet. Wonderful view and easy access to the dock where my husband spent many happy visits with Danny.... More

My husband and I stayed at Sal’s B&B in Herring Cove for 3 nights in August, 2012. We were towing a 20 foot trailer and had our two Labrador retrievers who slept in crates in the back of our pickup truck. The location was perfect – far enough away from the center of Halifax to allow our dogs a bit... More

We had two nights in this wonderul house. Sleeping room, living room and ensuite bathroom on our own. Own exit to the waterfront. Landing stage direct behind the house. Nice few on the ocean. All ships coming in to Halifax can be seen. Very good breakfast in huge room with morning sun. Very close to Halifax. Peggy's cove, Halifax, Whale... More

We stayed for two nights, in the Blue Whale room which was very comfortable, and everything was spotless. I was a little unsure about having a 'private bathroom' rather than an en-suite, but this was not a problem as it was directly opposite our bedroom and the Blue Wale room is the only bedroom on the ground floor. Joan was... More

My parents, husband and I stayed with Joan in her wonderful b&b in Herring Cove for 6 nights. It is about a 10 minute drive into Halifax and is a nice drive along the water passing a few yacht clubs. We stayed in the Eagle's Nest which is a self-contained ground floor, one bedroom unit. It has a separate livingroom,... More
