We stayed at the hotel for our anniversary. Enjoyed our time at the hotel. The room was great, bed was comfortable, new bedding. Bathroom is a littel small but well done with granite counter top. No hair dryer in bathroom. There is a bar at this location which has great food. Loved their sweet potato fries!!!! Staff was great. Lots... more

We stayed at this hotel one night on our way up to PEI. It is a good option for staying in Halifax. Most of the action in Halifax is closer to the water, but this hotel is just a few blocks from it. You can walk it. There wasn't anything that absolutely wow'ed me about the hotel but the rate... more

I loved this hotel! We were across the street from Public Garden (it's beautiful) and within three blocks of The Bengal Lancer Horses ( a passion of mine) world class shopping (were talking Valentino, Elie Tahari, and Hugo Boss just to name a few), and Fine Dining for every imaginable taste. The hotel staff was both incredibly friendly and efficient,... more

We had expected so much from this historic hotel but weren't overly impressed. We had a large suite (only room available) facing the Public Gardens. The air conditioner was very loud but if you turned it off and opened the windows for fresh air the noise level from the street below and the public gardens was even worse. Proximity to... more

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a great stay. Our room was on the 9th floor and very clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great as all the restaurants, stores, coffee shops, etc are just around the corner. It's also close to downtown. The elevators are small and there's a fee for parking.... more

My boyfriend and I were passing through Halifax while moving me to Cape Breton, and we stayed at the Lord Nelson for one night. It was a bit expensive ($183 incl tax for the room, parking and breakfast), but it's a local business and is in a good location, so we thought we'd splurge after camping. The room was a... more

I had to write in and tell you about an amazing hotel I experienced last month in Halifax . I went to school in Halifax years ago and remembered staying at the Lord Nelson back then. Wow what a change . The whole hotel has been transformed and it is in such a great location. Paul McCartney had just stayed... more
