Last stayed here in the early part of this century ... and it sure seemed worn. They have completely updated. It's fabulous. Reasonably priced. Service is amazing! Great room, great bed. All the finishes fresh. Friendly and committed staff from the front desk, through the Victory Arms Pub, to housekeeping. The only, only, only issue we had was poor WiFi...

My room had a bizarre fan in the bathroom that was so loud!! The waitress at breakfast was surly and more interested in her friends than in bringing me my poached eggs ( which were good FYI), but I liked the small room and the bed was very comfortable. The view of the park was beautiful.
I adore Halifax and...

Rooms was nice, clean. Staff were very helpful. Room was quiet on the 9th floor. Gym was just ok. Location is awesome. Only negative thing was the fridge wasn't cleaned out from the previous guests!

Staying at the Lord Nelson has a charm of the past. Once feels special staying here because of all the historical details have been preserved.
Yes, the rooms are small-ish which is a downside but the maintenance and up-keep of my room was excellent. Hotels service is quite good, and there is a low-key bar. I like the added touch...

By chance we had an opportunity stay at the Lord Neslon during a visit to Halifax during a trip to the theatre. The theatre was excellent, the stay at the Lord Nelson outstanding. Excellent accommodation and service.

The food is okay. Had a good...

Most everything about this hotel is pretty great: location, the rooms, the service... the ONLY complaint I have is that the walls are paper thin. I can hear every flush, or every time the water is running from the adjoining rooms, or conversations and doors opening/closing from the hallways. As a fairly light sleeper, who needs to be up fairly...

This hotel is around the corner from Spring Garden Road, which is a good area for shopping and also has a number of interesting places to eat. However, you have to make your way through a number of homeless who are begging for money, and that is a little disturbing. You are five or six blocks from the waterfront, but...

Large older hotel. Good value. But a bit of a walk to the harbour. Nice park across the street. Rooms are plain. Nothing special. Several block walk to nicer restaurants
