We had the occasion to visit Halifax earlier this year and stayed at the historic Lord Nelson (just filled with atmosphere). The location couldn't have been better - within walking distance to the best restaurants, great shopping and a stroll to the harbour. The people / staff were not only accommodating but as nice as could be. Made us feel... more

I recently stayed at The Lord Nelson Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Amazing lobby ... but my room was ridiculously small! I couldn't believe it! One double bed cramped in the smallest room I ever stayed! Can't see the window from pretty much anywhere in the room wich faces a wall! The best part of this hotel is the bathroom... more

My wife and I stayed at the Lord Nelson for three days in early June, 2009. The purpose of my trip was a business meeting. (my wife only stayed one night. We spent a week prior, touring Nova Scotia). The Hotel is a typical North American better qualty establishement. - very clean - very nice, friendly and helpful staff -... more

Overall my stay was very good. The location was perfect. I was visiting friends and being right on Spring Garden made it easy to go out for food and around. There are numerous bus stops to go to MicMac or Mumford mall right outside the door. I do reccomend eating in town as opposed to the Victory Pub - the... more

Booked the parlour suite and the romance package. First problem was they gave me the wrong room. That was fixed promptly. However for 300/night the parlour suite is extremely disappointing. The bathroom was the size of a closet, no jacuzzi, the fireplace hardly put out any heat. The traffic noise was terrible at night as other reviews have said when... more

Beautiful old building with interesting architecture. Room was small but nicely set-up. Bed was comfortable. Staff were very friendly and always helpful. more

Had some business in Halifax and a friend of mine who is living there urged me to stay here due to its proximity to his apartment. I was pretty discouraged by the steep prices but he got me a decent rate. While location was fantastic (right on Spring Garden), the hotel really wasn't. Right off the bat, the first room... more

We were very impressed by the appearance of the Lord Nelson Hotel upon arrival for a 2-day business trip. Parking was included with the room (a nice perk), and we were informed that we would have a suite. The rooms were nice and clean, wtih comfortable beds. The 'suite' was only a slightly larger room with sitting area (not a... more

We stayed here for 5 nights in October 2007. The lobby and the front of the hotel are beautiful- classic older hotels with marble floors, inlaid decor etc. The hotel is in a perfect location within walking distance to attractions and across form the park. The room we stayed in was nice enough, the bed was comfortable however we were... more

I stayed at the Lord Nelson in June 2007 for business purposes. I booked a room through a travel agent that bulk buys a number of rooms and it was one of the more expensive hotels that I stayed in while traveling across Canada. The first room I stayed in was average, had a damp smell and worse of all... more
