Comfortable room and bed. Bath shower. Ideal situation for walking to downtown (15mins). Access to computer and free WiFi. Self service breakfast in dining room with plenty of options. Staff very helpful about places of interest etc, and plenty of literature available such as street maps. Parking charges are made but reasonable and off road. Disappointed that no tea/coffee available... More

Garden South Park Inn is a cute vintage venue within walking distance of The Citadel, the fantastic public garden and downtown. It abuts a very interesting old cemetery, too, for those like us who like that sort of thing. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. They charge for overnight parking, but there was convenient on... More

My husband and I had travelled to Halifax to visit our children and had originally seceded to stay at Dalhousie in the student housing as it is quite reasonable. The horrors of the room there prompted us to find other lodging. The Garden Inn was just steps from my childrens apt. and so very close to so many amenities. The... More

The Inn is far less fancy than neighbourhood hotels like the Lord Nelson but it is comfortable, well located and reasonable priced by comparison. The rooms are fairly spacious with newly renovated, functional bathrooms. The furnishings are mismatched and eclectic. The bed was comfortable enough. For me there were only two disappointing features. The supplied shampoo was in cheap plastic... More

This Inn is a 20 minute walk to downtown waterfront. There is shopping nearby and a lovely park. City transit is available very close by. We had a room on what I considered to be the main floor, (a few steps up from the entrance level) not luxurious in size but perfectly fine. The room cleaning service did vary, depending... More

Cleanliness was not a factor here, reception however...The receptionist/?owner decided to concern herself with our business...We could not come and go without her questioning our intentions...No entertainment to be had at this facility, the beds were hard as a rock, breakfast was below average and parking was expensive and then I had to drive across the street to pay for... We stayed here on a last-minute anniversary weekend getaway to Halifax and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room (105) was inexpensive, small, cheerfully decorated and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the place was very clean. We laughed when we first saw our room and called it a munchkin room (see the picture of my husband on the twin bed), but... More

We were disappointed by the quality of this inn; it appears to have been renovated recently but the room furnishings were cheap and utilitarian. The breakfast was self serve, and plain but adequate. Guests helped themselves to continental offerings, and cleaned up after themselves as there were no staff assigned to monitor the area. The system seemed to work well,... More

Having arrived late in the evening, we were greeted by a wonderful smell: it was the pastries baking for tomorrow's breakfast! Been here a week and it suited our needs perfectly. In this very walkable city, we were in a nice neighborhood, within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. 15 minutes gets you anywhere on foot. The room... More

This inn is located right across from the hospital and less than 15 min walk to most of the major attractions in Halifax. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was basic but generous. We stayed 9 days and found the staff helpful and friendly. We also met many of the guests and found them friendly also. The price... More
