This Inn is a 20 minute walk to downtown waterfront. There is shopping nearby and a lovely park. City transit is available very close by. We had a room on what I considered to be the main floor, (a few steps up from the entrance level) not luxurious in size but perfectly fine. The room cleaning service did vary, depending... More

Cleanliness was not a factor here, reception however...The receptionist/?owner decided to concern herself with our business...We could not come and go without her questioning our intentions...No entertainment to be had at this facility, the beds were hard as a rock, breakfast was below average and parking was expensive and then I had to drive across the street to pay for... I thank you for writing a review of the Garden South Park Inn and agree with the response the Inn is very clean We are located downtown with just a 10 minute walk to the waterfront area. We stayed here on a last-minute anniversary weekend getaway to Halifax and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room (105) was inexpensive, small, cheerfully decorated and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the place was very clean. We laughed when we first saw our room and called it a munchkin room (see the picture of my husband on the twin bed), but... More

We were disappointed by the quality of this inn; it appears to have been renovated recently but the room furnishings were cheap and utilitarian. The breakfast was self serve, and plain but adequate. Guests helped themselves to continental offerings, and cleaned up after themselves as there were no staff assigned to monitor the area. The system seemed to work well,... More

Having arrived late in the evening, we were greeted by a wonderful smell: it was the pastries baking for tomorrow's breakfast! Been here a week and it suited our needs perfectly. In this very walkable city, we were in a nice neighborhood, within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. 15 minutes gets you anywhere on foot. The room... More

This inn is located right across from the hospital and less than 15 min walk to most of the major attractions in Halifax. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was basic but generous. We stayed 9 days and found the staff helpful and friendly. We also met many of the guests and found them friendly also. The price... More

This rating dropped a full point based on the reception we received when we first got into the property. We got there a couple hours early, and the person at the reception desk should not - under any circumstances - be allowed to interact with the public. If we could have moved into another property without financial penalty, we definitively... More

Our room was quiet and reasonably well appointed. The main draw for this establishment is the excellent location. Easy walking distance to the harbor, many good restaurants and drinking establishments as well as the Victorian Garden and the Citadel. Breakfasts are nothing memorable, however. With the exception of the TV comment, Landrys05's review is essentially the same as mine. If... More

When you first walk in the hotel is very cute, it has a nice antique look, but my excitement quickly faded once we got to the reception. The women at the desk was not welcoming at all, in fact she made us feel like we were bothering her. The was adequate but nothing extraordinary, it definitely did not have that... More

We stayed here for an anniversary a few years ago,so definetely noticed the more modern renovations they have done(although the old school charm from before was nice,as well) We were in a Queen room on the 3rd floor. View not the best(overlooking a cemetary) but oh well... The room was lovely and modern. Bed very comfy, air conditioning worked well,2 shower... More
