We very much enjoyed our four nights at this lovely, well situated inn. The three nights in the premium room were admittedly more comfortable than the one night booked errantly in a room with only a double. We really appreciated the internet access and even a printer to print off our boarding passes for e-check-in flight home. There were always... more

My husband and I spent one night at the Waverley Inn in a beautifully appointed room with a private Jacuzzi bath. The furnishings and linens were gorgeous and we were in absolute comfort during our stay. The staff there are incredibly helpful and directed us to a selection of great restaurants and bars, and when we returned we made ourselves... more

I stayed at the Waverley Inn in the first week of May. I liked that the Waverley was in a central location, the staff were friendly. My room was small and dark though. The breakfast was good but there could be more choices available. Other than that my stay was great. more

My husband and I have been staying here a few times per year, when we want to go into the city for a concert, to shop, a nice getaway. In the past we tried normal chain hotels and the Garden Inn downtown, very ordinary and as far as I'm concerned the value for the money is just not there. A... more

This is a great place to stay! The staff were very friendly, giving us a history of the Inn. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. After reading some of the reviews of the breakfast I was a little hesitant to try it but was pleasantly surprised. There is such a huge variety of food to eat and everything was... more

Don't let the website mislead you, this place is far too expensive for what you get. Only a few of the rooms have enough daylight and the rooms just aren't clean. Fake paintings and age old wall paper may add to the Victorian atmosphere of this lodging, only thourough cleaning and maintenance could lift it to acceptable. Let's face it,... more

I first booked the Waverley Inn in 1991 because of the Oscar Wilde connection and have stayed there on every trip to Halifax since -- 5 and counting. The location is within walking distance of pretty much everything you want to see in Halifax -- just be prepared to walk back uphill! The antique furniture is wonderful, and I always... more

Unlikely charm in this Victorian inn a few blocks from downtown Halifax. Unfailingly helpful and friendly staff, free and convenient parking, a breakfast buffet--nothing special but nice to have. We enjoyed the Oscar Wilde room in the original part of the building--he actually stayed there--but anyone bothered by noise would be wise to avoid the front rooms. Great decor. more

Location, location, location is what they declare in the real estate world and it is the same when visiting a walking friendly city like Halifax. The Waverley Inn succeeds admirably! Located near the train station it is a short hike to any of the sights in downtown Halifax. My fiancee and I took complete advantage by keeping our car in... more
