The Halliburton is warm & welcoming. We love the quiet elegance at a good value (free parking, great breakfast included). We have had great meals at their Restaurant-Stories but there are other places within walking distance. Location is great - can walk to Art Gallery, waterfront and shopping.

I really enjoyed my first trip to Halifax and a big prat of the reason why was my stay at the Halliburton. It was really centrally located and beautifully appointed - nice character yet all mod cons! I had to change room and the staff were accommodating and friendly. I would really recommend a stay at this lovely, homely guest... More

The hotel was clean and the restaurant was very good. Breakfast was basic and after five days a bit boring seeing the same thing. Excellent location for restaurants and pubs. Nice and close to the waterfront and the farmers market.

Thank you visiting The Halliburton for your recent stay in Halifax. I'm pleased you enjoyed the Farmers Market. We recommend guests stop by to see the impressive display of local, independent producers, farmers and cuisine. I will have a close look at mixing up our breakfast offerings. Thank you for this feedback. Sincerely, Robert Pretty Owner/Manager, The Halliburton Hotel, Halifax More

Rooms are clean, nicely furnished on the edge of downtown and the south end. Within walking distance of many nice restaurants. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms very functional. Rooms was big enough to throw a party in, but we were going to a party so we just used it for sleep.

We enjoyed a quiet evening with exquisite food and wine at the Halliburton on New Year's Eve. The Halliburton is always a peaceful, comfortable place to stay in Halifax in a great downtown location for walking. Stories is one of the best restaurants in Halifax.

We heartily would recommend The Haliburton's New Year's Eve dinner and accommodation package. The meal with wine pairings was excellent. The setting was lovely. Service was well-paced. Our server was particularly nice. We chose this place because it is one of the very few restaurants in Halifax that is quiet, enabling one to enjoy a conversation while dining. (We, however,... Thank you for joining us for our end-of-year celebration. We received great feedback from this blind tasting dinner event. I'm pleased you enjoyed the service provided by our team and the atmosphere here at The Halliburton. Please understand that our event was priced to include the food and wine. Other coffees and beverages were not included in our budgeting. I... More

I traveled to Halifax on a rainy day and wasn't looking forward to being away from home, but staying at the Halliburton made it a lot easier. It's very charming, and the staff were great. The library is a lovely place to hang out and read, the courtyard is super, and my room was wonderful - really cozy. On the... More

The staff at The Halliburton are second to none! Everyone that worked at this boutique hotel were always there to help you, and would go out of their way to make your stay memorable. The rooms had a wonderful old century feel to them, and were tastefully decorated. Highly recommend the Neptune Package at this hotel. The value of this... More

I was so very impressed with the Haliburton! This is a MUST for any traveller looking to escape a chain hotel but maintain a beautiful upscale feel at affordable prices. The room was very well appointed with modern furnishings, linens, and the most gorgeous working fireplace! The continental breakfast was definitely above par and loaded with bagels, toast, fruit, yogurt,... More

Thank you for choosing to stay at The Halliburton Hotel and for posting your review. We agree, our fireplaces are a nice addition, especially on rainy November evenings! I will pass your breakfast compliments to our staff (our bagels come from Izzy's, a small shop locally). Thank you for mentioning our beautiful (but steep) stair-cases, not for the feint of... More
