After traveling from Quebec city all day on a train imagine finding out your room is on the 3rd floor there's no elevator or bellhop so you carry your luggage up 2 flights of steps (36 to be exact)to a room that was formerly part of the attic. To get into the bed on the right side you have to... More

I am pleased that this guest posted their review. I hope they were able to find accommodations more to their liking. Small historic hotels are not for everyone. We have no rooms that are, or formerly were, part of an attic. We have a diverse collection of rooms of all shapes and sizes. Some spacious, others cozy. No, no elevator... More

The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. They seemed to actually like working there. Rooms are clean. Location is tops. And it was nice to stay in a small, charming place instead of a cookie-cutter corporate joint. Go stay at the Halliburton. You'll be glad you did.

The hotel is not bad it is a restored victorian type of hotel. I know lots of people love this type of hotel but it was not for us. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We wanted a king size bed but they had none. They upgraded us to a suite at no additional cost. I'm a big guy... More

I stayed here for three nights. This is a centrally located B&B that is near the seaport, farmers market, boardwalk and many great restaurants. In fact, the local food tour stays in the same neighborhood that the Halliburton is in. The rooms are very comfortable and nice sized, the breakfast is good and the service is great and the staff... We stayed at the Halliburton two nights. The staff is very friendly. The location is convenient for touring the local sites -- Pier 21, the boardwalk, the citidel, the public gardens, etc. are all within easy walking distance. Although the weather wasn't suitable, there is a nice outdoor patio which could be a pleasant place to relax and, indoors, there... More

I have stayed at the Halliburton three times in the past and have found it to be consistently an excellent place to stay when visiting Halifax. It is a very calm oasis in the downtown area and an easy walk to anywhere along the waterfront. It is very close to Pier 21, great restaurants and markets as well- and not... More

I travel quite extendsively for business and want to let everyone know that my recent experience and over night stay at The Halliburton was by far the highlight of my summer travelling. The Halliburton made me feel like I was coming home to a family gathering. The food was exceptional, the hospitality warm, the room bright, sunny and cozy. All... More

We spent one night at the Halliburton and we were very pleased with our stay. The room was immaculate and very comfortable, although a little on the small side. The hotel is beautiful, the staff very friendly, breakfast was great, with lots of hot and cold items to choose from. It is walking distance to the harbor area. We would... More

Booked 3 nights for our family of four as we moved our son in to university. Convenient to all the university campuses (some may still need a car), the harbour and the boardwalk and all the downtown restaurants. Studio suite was ample space for us all. We will be back - next to visit our son sometime later in the... More

We recently stayed at the Haliburton for an overnight getaway from the kids! We had a wonderful experience as the staff were extremely courteous and accommodating. The accommodations were very comfortable, clean and charming. One of the biggest pluses is the fact that this Hotel has an amazing restaurant. I have eaten at many restaurants in Halifax and this has... More
