3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012 NEW

Was in this property for 4 nights in May 2012. Overall, the property is a purpose built building from the 1970's. Much of the interior in the lobby has a very 70's/80's feel. While the name might appear to create some vintage nostalgic, this is a 'modern' hotel building with a grand name. The location of the hotel is ideal.... More

When my husband and I arrived at the Prince George we had the option to upgrade to the Crown floor which included a king sized bed, a private lounge and a free cold continental breakfast for under $50 a night! Money well spent! The bed was soooo comfortable and the sheets were Egyptian cotton. We've never slept so good in... More

This hotel is within walking distance of the Halifax business and sightseeing districts. Helpful staff and clean and well appointed accommodation. Only downside is that the like at most hotels breakfast prices are at a premium and the breakfast area has been chock full on the days I was there making it a bit crowded and noisy.

Thanks! Delighted to learn that you had such an enjoyable stay. Apologies for the crowded restaurant during your visit - this often happens when we have large conference groups in-house. Do hope that you will give us another try should your travels bring you back to Halifax. More

We bid for a downtown hotel and were pleased to find out it was the Prince George. We assumed it was an older property but it is a fabulous new building that occupies a city block right downtown. Halifax is an older city with very limited parking and slightly unusual road patterns so it is a bonus to be downtown... More

Just spent one night at the Prince George in Halifax; good location; staff very professional and welcoming. Room was quiet. They have a mini fridge which is great for keeping drinks cold and a nice coffee and tea maker. Big comfortable king beds. Valet service very punctual. Cant say anything negative. Only suggestion - on the exterior entrance, should add... More

So good of you to write a review! Thanks for noting the mini fridge, and new Keurig coffee\tea machines - these are a fairly new installation so we very much appreciate the feedback. Have certainly noted your comment regarding the rather austere entranceway. Any day we will be installing hanging baskets and potted trees in the front which will soften... More

Great location the center halifax. Nice room with good amenities and great king bed. Breakfast buffet was good and the Keg restaurant across the street is a great choice for a steak dinner.

We arrived at the Prince George with a few kinks, no doorman to greet us and help with our bags, we were slightly put off by the lack of help by the hotel staff as we checked in. As are stay progressed hotel service drastically improved with helpful front desk staff that were very accommodating. We did find the concierge/doormen... More

Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a thorough and, mostly positive, review! Profuse apologies for the lack of assistance when you first arrived - be assured that your comments have been addressed as this is certainly not our standard - and not what you would expect from a Four Diamond property. Very pleased to read that... More

Stayed there April. Spacious rooms which are clean. You are right in the downtown area, next to the Metro Center. Check in was a breeze and the staff were helpful. Didn't eat at the restaurant but heard it was good.

Since we were taking a trip and unfamiliar with the hotels in Halifax, I booked a room through Priceline. Since the Prince George was one of the most expensive hotels listed on Priceline, I made the assumption it would be the best. Well, you know what they say about assuming . . . The Prince George Hotel seems like a... More

We welcome your critique and are truly sorry that you were so disappointed. Just to respond to some of your points, we would just assure you that we accept hundreds of Priceline and Hotwire bookings and have never received negative feedback, although we do encourage guests to call after they have booked with the third party so that we can...
