Margaret and Tony were gracious hosts, accommodating our check in time to correspond to our whale watching tour. Breakfast was outstanding and delicious. Highly recommended for couples and families. Don't miss this chance to reconnect with the past. Great wifi for the kids.

This is without doubt the most interesting B&B in which we have ever had the pleasure of staying. Margaret and Tony were the perfect hosts, welcoming, friendly and helpful in every way. The house is very old and has been authentically restored with immense care by its owners. The result is a comfortable time capsule that we throughly enjoyed living... More

Incredible hosts and a stay that exceeded expectations! We're not usually the Bed and Breakfast kind of people, but we were sold after a couple of friendly chats with Margaret on the phone and through e-mail so we booked the Elizabeth room for 2 nights along with the zodiac whale watching tour (which is run by a separate operator, but... My husband and I stayed at Holdsworth House for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. We really wished it had been more but will plan another visit in the future. The owners are fantastic people who make you feel so welcome and go above and beyond to make sure your stay with them is amazing. Their home is a living... More

My sister and I took a trip to Digby, birthplace of our father to find his original house still standing looking over the beautiful Bay of Fundy. Along the way we were in desperate need of some espresso cappuccino and were delighted to discover Mag Pyes Cafe in Digby. The owners Margaret and Tony also run the most charming B&B... More

The pride, love and care that Margaret and Tony have for their 1783 Holdsworth House and the history that precedes them is evident from the second they open the door to welcome you. I loved having a tour of the house and the history lesson about the Holdsworth family. All of the rooms are quaint and lovely. A friend and... More

This historic home and the owners who have lovingly restored it, treated my friend and I to a most wonderful experience this weekend. Holdsworth House (1783 ) has been lovingly preserved and really provided a glimpse into Nova Scotia's past. Coming from the much-younger province of Saskatchewan I really appreciate touching bricks and walls from the 1700's! Margaret and Tony,... More

It is difficult to sum up this place. On the one hand, Margaret was unbelievably helpful and hospitable. The breakfasts at Mag Pyes were delicious even though some distance away. But other aspects of our stay were decidedly odd: Chester the aged dog in a diaper in front of the fireplace snarling; Tony in his cups; the mobile home where... More

Thank you for taking time to review our property. I do recall your stay with us, in June, 2013. We do state on our website that the Holdsworth House is "our home". Tony and I do live in the house, and we also have our evening meals in the kitchen. We are offended by the statement of "Tony in his... More

My sister-in-law and I stayed at Holdsworth House B&B on an overnight trip to Digby on November 8,2013. Tony, Margaret and their doggies: Chester, Bumpy and Doc, exceeded all our expectations. We felt welcomed and at home from the moment we arrived. We opted to stay in the Elizabeth Holdsworth room and found it to be clean, comfortable and cozy.... More

My friend and I had selected the Mabel room and it was too bad that we arrived so late in the evening that we didn't appreciate the view and the owners' hospitality until the next morning. We slept well in our twin beds and everything was clean and comfortable, although with only a clawfoot tub in a quaint bathroom with... More
