My family is originally from Cape Breton on one side and Shediac on the other, so the maritimes are in my blood... Decided to explore a few years ago and stayed at the Digby Inn. Loved it so much, it's my one stop every time I go down. My son and I are avid used book hunters, and there is... More

Whenever I go to the maritimes (1-2 times a year) this is the only place I stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. Everything is very clean. They even have a no sleeping bag policy, so are one of the few to avoid the bed-bug plague. Everything you need is within walking distance. The grounds are massive, with lots of... More

This home is clean and appears at first a good place but after a couple nights I felt as if I was imposing. To start with I was charges 10. more a night then I expected to pay as their program did not calculate the hst and I was told that I would have to pay the difference regardless of... More

I can not help but read this review and feel like I need to clarify/correct some erroneous statements. The “extra” $10 per night that this reviewer mentioned as not being aware of: we mention clearly that all rates quoted exclude HST, both on our website as well as throughout the online booking process that this guest used. This is not... More

Come and enjoy the great atmosphere, Digby scallops, clean rooms, comfy beds, very friendly owners and the great staff. It's my fourth stay (2010, 11, 12, 14) here at the Digby Backpackers Inn, currently staying here for another few days. I keep extending. :-) There are great things to do around Digby, especially whale watching in Tiverton, great hiking trails... More

On the last weekend of my stay in Nova Scotia I decided to go to Digby to see the whales on the Bay of Fundy. I found the Inn's flyer on the Halifax visitor center and it was the perfect choice. The house is really nice, aside from the private rooms and the dorm rooms (which I stayed in) it... More

I had never tried a hostel, and am not generally a B&B person - this place changed my mind!! Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful accommodations, close to everything and the greatest hosts. The rooms were clean, there was both indoor and outdoor space to enjoy. Even in my own home, my shower isn't as good as theirs!! I will visit again as... More

This was the most fantastic hostel I've stayed in. The owners are magnificent friendly and helpful hosts. We even got to star gaze out their back with an open fire and some cool background music telling stories and having a laugh. Right beside everywhere in Digby and views of the sun beaming onto the bay in the morning were spectacular.... More

This is one of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. It's incredibly clean with super comfy beds. I stayed in the 4 bed dorm with en suite and the shower was fantastic - excellent water pressure with great heat. Saskia and Claude are great hosts! They happily arranged my whale watching tour for me and then were happy to include... More

The Digby Backpackers Hostel offers all the charm and service of a B&B but priced as a hostel, which it is. Basic breakfast was included. The hostel is in a beautiful old home. I stayed in the 4-bed dorm which has its own modern bathroom. Claude and Saskia are very welcoming and offer helpful advice about local restaurants, sights and... More

I've stayed in many hostels throughout Europe, so I decided to give the hostels on this side of the pond a try. I'm so glad that I stayed at this hostel! From the moment we stepped into the place we were greeted with open arms, a friendly smile, and helpful advice on where to eat and tour. I was really... More
