We stayed here for one night in late September in one of the smaller rooms. There’s only one nightstand in the room. It’s an older property. There’s a mix of quaint with heritage aspects but also had a old/worn feeling as well. We were asked to provide several confirmations even after booking and confirming the reservations a couple of months... More

We choose this over a traditional hotel for an overnight stop. No idea how this has rated so high. The good: hardwood floors in rooms. Spacious. The bad : one nightstand, even though we both have glasses, phones, books etc. No plug even on the empty side. Old mattress that drags you to the center of the bed. Pilly, nubbly... More

As advised from previous TA reviewers, I telephoned just prior to our arrival and were met by "Tanya" who met us in the quaint and attractive lobby. This venue has virtually no front desk staff which is "different". We were shown to our room on the second floor. What a nice surprise to see a beautiful queen bed and old... More

Spanish Bay Inn is an easy hotel to miss, and the parking lot is even harder to see. But, never mind, on the second time around the block, there it was, and we chose one of the two on-street parking spots. We loved the downtown waterfront location and its proximity to the Governor's Pub and Eatery (Yum!). The decor was... More

Stayed here for three nights with two other couples (relatives). Liked the lobby. Very comfortable and clean, well-appointed room. Access to breakfast - quite straightforward - but this appealed to us, as we had been eating too many Canadian/American cooked breakfasts elsewhere. Strange reception - noone there - had to phone someone to give us our room keys. Front door... More

I agree with the other 3 star reviews but also want to add that the "lobby" is very nice. We used it after dinner so we could gather as a group. Linda is incredibly accommodating, familiar with the area and fun to chat with.

We chose Sydney for a 3 night stay because of the location. It was an easy drive to the fortress at Louisbourg and other sights on our list.. The room was clean and did not have an "old" smell but the hotel and furnishings were very warn. The sheets were pilled from use and very rough. Our room was dark... More

We stayed here for the first time on our trip to Nova Scotia & we will definitely be back! The charm was so unexpected....it was so quiet & relaxing. The staff was so accommodating....even making sure we had breakfast at 4AM when we had an early flight out. Hats off to Linda! Can't wait to visit again!

Right across the street from the Holiday Inn.. A charming historical building. We were in room 1 which was very nice but smaller than other rooms (12, 13). Each room was a suite / kitchenette that would be suitable for a family wanting to stay for several days. Breakfast was limited but good. Free laundry facilities are available. While in... More

The Inn was a nice surprise for us as we had been staying at little motels along our trip. This was more of an executive hotel. We stayed in a Junior Suite which had a nice big room. Wood and tile floors, modern furnishings, very clean. It had a kitchenette which seemed to be well stocked with anything you might... More
