Very nice ,quiet hotel on the waterfront. Antique furnishings except for the bed and bathroom which was quite modern and comfortable. I had made the reservation on line with no trouble and there was a receptionist present when we arrived at about 3;30 PM. We were a little surprised to be advised that no one would be on duty after... More

This hotel is a lovely boutique-style inn with hardwood floors, a very comfortable bed, and decor to fit this historical building. The staff were extremely lovely, and were keen to get to know us and provide some sightseeing recommendations to a couple of Albertans. Although it didn't affect us at all, it would be worth noting that there are no... More

I never got the opportunity. I tried. I tried pretty hard, too. I called their toll-free number and reach a voice mail box which stated their hours of 8 AM - 5 PM. What? A hotel closing at 5 PM? OK. It was about 4:50 so I left the voice mail as requested with my name, callback number and the... More

The hotel is a smallish old hotel (as in a basic century old inn - don't know how old it actually is, but go with that). And while it's old and was basic, it is fixed up well enough. The location is right downtown. The breakfast is simple: yoghurt, cereal, juice, toast, and the sign on the coffee maker asks... More

We recently stayed overnight at this lovely property. We arrived late and were met by one of the friendly staff. The room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The price was great, the location is very convenient and the kitchen area provides a... More

Premier. Nope. Executive. Nope. High quality. Nope. Prior to arriving guests are asked to let the property know the time of arrival since there is typically no one on site constantly (so I understood from the email). That wasn't a problem, nor was the fact that there is no staff on site on the weekend except sporadically. The room was... More

I am very sorry you were not happy with the Spanish Bay Inn, I understand your comments regarding no one on site all the time, this is something we will have to re-visit, we have mostly repeat guests that are familiar with the place so staff being on an on-call bases works for those. This however does not help folks... More

Tucked right in downtown Sydney, you walk right off the street into a historic and very clean and tidy Inn. Friendly staff, very clean rooms with an awesome bed. Set no alarm and you'll sleep in ! I would definitely recommend this Inn to friends as it was recommended to me. Price was great and a fix your own breakfast... More

The Spanish Bay Inn is a delightful place to stay. The room we stayed in was very, very clean and tastefully decorated. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The price was great, as I have stayed in places not nearly as nice for a lot more money.

We stayed at this inn for three nights. Note that the inn has 2-3 parking slots out front in Pitt street and the main parking area is off the Esplanade. This main parking area is not signposted and looks like it might be another company's parking lot but the left-hand side (the hard surface area) belongs to the inn. There... More

The pictures on the website make the Spanish Bay Inn look like a semi-luxurious alternative to cheaper hotels in the area. This is not actually the case. Our room was crammed full of furniture that we continually bumped into or maneuvered around. The space was very small. Our view was of an ugly building next to the parking lot. We... More
