Stayed at Gowrie House last week with my partner and mother. We could not have been more comfortable. Beautifully decorated, large rooms with air conditioning and anything that one would need. Delicious multi course dinner and full breakfast. The owner is truely charming and our stay was a highlight of our visit to Cape Breton. more

What can I add to the glowing reviews already posted. Everything about this B&B is wonderful. We only stayed for one night before taking the NFLD ferry but will definately stay again and for longer next time - what a wonderful place it would be to use as a base for a few days. more

The Inn is picture perfect, with spacious rooms, but perhaps was a little better suited to the typical B&B client (an older couple), then a family with small children. The Gowrie House Country Inn is a very classy place in Sydney Mines. At times I wondered about stationing ourselves in this tiny town but soon realized that when sightseeing on Cape Breton, you're going to put many miles on your car no matter where your home base.
