Absolutely wonderful. The folks @ Cabot shores were very accommodating. It was absolute bliss to be able to sleep with the sound of the waves crashing against the beach in the back ground once the wee one went to sleep. :-)

Stayed at the Cabot Shores Farmhouse for three nights with my son and grandson. It was a nice quiet, private location and a short walk to some spectacular views. From the outside it looks like a fairly typical farmhouse, but as soon as you step inside it's obvious that it's not typical. Very clean and beautifully redone with pine throughout... More

Cabot Shores reminds me of a line from Yeats' famous poem "The Lake Isle of Innisfree": "And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings..." I arrived at this beautiful resort a stressed-out dishrag and within hours I felt as calm and centered as a... More

My friend and I stayed in the blue yurt at Cabot Shores a few weeks ago. She was initially deterred by a bad review posted in 2012. They've obviously made some improvements since then, so I thought I would clarify. The yurt is very cozy and beautifully decorated. The bed was sooo comfortable, we both fell asleep right away. I... Molly, thank you for your thorough review. We must agree, that the yurts are definitely a unique experience, and we are happy you and your friend enjoyed! You are correct in saying that we are quite rural, hence late-night food can be tricky. We definitely recommend making a stop at a grocer before arriving in Indian Brook just to be... More

Went to Cabot Shores with 9 friends after running the Halifax Bluenose marathon on May 18. We arrived May 20 and stay for two days. Paul greeted us and showed us the rooms, six in the main building and four in a chalet. We saw that there was a open chalet and asked Paul if it was available with us... More

Thanks for your review Carl. We are pleased we were able to satisfy your party in order for you to best enjoy your stay with us. Chalets really are the way to go when having a group traveling together. We feel they allow for a perfect combination of privacy and togetherness. We appreciate your comments on the food as well... We had a great time at Cabot Shores. Paul and his staff were very accommodating to keep us, as a group of 10, all together so we could enjoy our time. The chalets were very clean, well equipped and spacious! I've only had lobster a few times in my life and decided to have it as one of my dinners... More

Gary, Thank you very much for your review. We are always happy to hear when guests are pleased with their stay with us, as that is our main goal! The chalets are definitely a great spot to stay when you're with a larger party like yourself, and we are big fans of the local lobster ourselves! We hope to see... More

Ten of us from Stoney Creek, Ontario stayed at Cabot Shores for some R and R after running the Blue Nose marathon in May. Originally Paul had us distributed in various rooms in the main lodge as well as in a chalet. When we requested two side by side chalets instead, Paul was more than happy to comply. We thoroughly... We had a spectacular time at Cabot Shores. From the time we found Cabot Shores on the Web, Paul and Barbara went out of their way to make sure things were nicely arranged for us. We arrived a little late and as soon as we did, Cosmo (the dog) came out to greet us, we washed up and sat down... More

Thank you for the lovely review Oksana. It was a pleasure hosting yourself and Christina. It is definitely a change in pace from the city life, which is a treat to many that stay here! Although your stay was brief, we were pleased that you both got to experience a lot of what Cabot Shores has to offer, from hiking,... More

Where do I begin on this one. My wife and I were in Cape Breton Island for a few days on our honeymoon. All was well when Paul was looking for his money, and we were quoted for 2 nights a bill of $800.00 (nothing special added, just breakfast and dinner for the days we were there). I then tried... This review stunned us because during their stay, the guests had nothing but compliments about the food, the extra services rendered and the fact that they were allowed to stay 6 hours beyond checkout time. The only thing we all agreed on is that they unfortunately met some nasty, unseasonably cold and rainy weather. That said, it is important for... More

My husband and I traveled to Nova Scotia for the first time and stayed at this resort for four nights at the beginning of May.
