“Excellent and not your typical B&B”

Spent two nights at Joan's place. Have heard the phrase "come as a stranger, leave as a friend" and not known it before until now. Amazing place to stay. After travelling around the beautiful Cabot Trail, my wife and I stayed here. We were a little surprised that the owner didn't take a credit card for the reservation, she said that it would be upto us to leave what we felt was fair, I had known Cape Breton to be a place of hospitality, but... After being on the road for three weeks, it was refreshing to stay somewhere that felt like an actual home. The hostess is lovely, warm, and highly entertaining, as is her adorable little dog Rocky!
