We stopped here for lunch on the way to the Cabot Trail. Upon arrival, you know you have reached someplace special. The setting is very scenic, the buildings very attractive and the grounds well maintained. The food in the cozy pub is very well prepared and somewhat fancier than typically found in other places. The fish and chips were quite... More

What a wonderfully relaxing place, wonderful food and great atmosphere . Staff are amazing and the Inn and Distillery are a definite place to visit on Cape Breton. Finished my Cape Breton trip at the Inn and was most impressed . Dinner was off the scale delicious Highly recommend

Thought it would be fun to stay in a distillery, so we did the whole thing - took the distillery tour, stayed in the inn, and had dinner in the dining room. The tour was interesting but the distillery doesn't operate at this time of year so we could see the equipment but none of it was in action; tour... More

Knowing the people who conceived the idea of a Cape Breton distillery as well as the present owners it took me quite a while to pay a visit. We did the tour which was straight forward and well done. We also stayed the night. All was very nice in a very nice setting. But, it was the food that really... More

Prior to taking their distillery tour, my wife and I enjoyed their afternoon ceilidh (1-3pm daily) while having a light snack. We had the seafood chowder (haddock, clams, and scallops) in a light cream broth. Thankfully there were few potatoes, but the taste of the haddock dominated, making it taste more like a fish than a seafood chowder. The fresh... More

Room options seem to be chalets or rooms in the main building - ours was one of the latter. Room was fine. Functional more than anything but clean, pleasant and spacious enough for a stopover. Best part of this for me was excellent food in the main restaurant, a decent selection of beers and ales and live folk music (a... More

We stayed here in August after recommendations from friends. Despite the not so great weather it was a lovely small inn attached to the distillery with nice grounds and atmosphere. We had large comfortable room and a great evening meal.

Our lunches were excellent and would eat there again. the Whiskey tour was informative, fun and the tour guide will give you a chuckle. The admission is $7 but they give you a taste of the... More

We did not stay here but chose it as our lunch destination. Do yourself a big favour and order the Gluten Free Chocolate Cake....made with quinoa.....it is the best desert ever made. Seriously!! The house merlot was also very, very good. I will be back!!

Didn't use Inn for accomodations. Went for lunch, a tour and bought some whiskey. The tour was $7 and lasted about 30 minutes. We went into two building, attached by a pedway, to see the process of distilling and history of their equipment; very interesting and informative. Tour guide mentioned, several times, the storage of the casks, it would have... More
