We were the first visitors at the Maven Gypsy for the 2013 season, arriving a day after the new hosts (from the UK) had arrived. A comfortable place to stop, especially if you are doing the Cabot Trail counter-clockwise. Breakfast was spectacular; our host generously copied out the details of the ingredients for the homemade breakfast granola. Variety of rooms... More

Access to this property is a bit difficult. I drive a Hyundai Santa Fe crossover SUV with good ground clearance, but I bottomed out twice on the short but steep, unpaved driveway leading up to the main building. I actually had to use lower gear and my car automatically shifted into all wheel drive! We stayed in one of the... More

We were only here for one night but found it to be excellent. The room was spacious and clean, Shane and Cody greeted us warmly when we arrived and made us tea and coffee. It was 20 mins drive to a restaurant for dinner but Cody gave some excellent recommendations. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and perfectly cooked and presented. I... More

What stands out was our airy and creatively decorated room and en-suite bath. And indeed the whole B&B shared those qualities. The openness of the room was enhanced with almost wrap-around windows. Those facing the sea gave a fantastic view. We had a great breakfast on the porch; if it had been a bit warmer we could gave eaten in the... More

And you know if it is your husbands favorite place, then it must really be special! We came to this charming place at the beginning of our long and relaxing trip through the Maritime provinces and had many other places to compare it to after the fact. By far, the Gypsy Maven was our fave. After a trip up the... More

It was a pleasure dropping by the Maven Gypsy Betd& Breakfast. Our hosts, Cody and Shaine, were truly wonderful, they enquire about any diet restrictions, without me mentioning (or even thinking about it). My husband and child are lactose intolerance. The next morning I received a wonderful breakfast; Cody cooked a low-lactose quiche for my husband and daughter and a... More

We really enjoyed staying at the Maven Gypsy. We stayed in one of the cottages - it was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It was so quiet! We had our own stovetop, fridge and kitchen sink, and we used the BBQ to cook our own steak dinner. That evening was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Cape... More

this B&B is a true hidden treasure. When we arrived we were greeted at the door with a very warm welcome from cody and shane. We spent the evening relaxing at the property, we were sitting in the front room and even got tea made for us. The room was very well decorated and amazingly clean. In the morning we... More

Stayed in the cottage with 2 single beds. The room was equipped with everything we needed. Please note there is no wifi or tv, but the tranquil setting is great. There is a little fridge and 2 burner stove, kettle, plates, cooking equipment and utensils. We ordered the breakfast basket and it was very worthwhile...eggs, bacon, homemade bread and granola,... We stayed at the Maven Gypsy last night. We came as a family of 5 and took up 2 well appointed rooms in the B&B. The rooms were very clean and the bed was sooo comfortable. I had the best sleep of our entire east coast trip. A gentle breeze blew into our room and I fell asleep to the... More
