We stayed at the Hideaway Campground based on the recommendation of a friend and were largely pleased with the experience. There are both waterfront and wooded tent sites to choose from, as well as cabins scattered around the grounds. The sites are relatively close together and we were initially concerned about noise from the cabins, but everything quieted down after... More

We didn't stay here so can't comment on the campground. We were told by locals to get their oysters, which did not disappoint. They were freshly harvested that morning, and shucked right in front of us, with all the fixings.

We did not actually camp at the campground, we simply stopped in for some crab legs and oysters. When we first walked in we felt we were in the wrong place. We had read a review online and decided to try it out. We then ordered the oysters and crab legs. The woman behind the counter shucked them right away... More

When I first saw this campsite, it brought me memories of desolation without being desolate. The setting on top of a hill provides sweeping views of Aspy Bay and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. The owners left an open space towards the back to create a meadow thereby allowing the campers to observe the unique geologic features formed millions of years... More

The campground location is beautiful and convenient and also has hospitality owners. We were putting to the place near the office and the common room which has electricity but was a little bit noisy! There were teens playing and singing next to our tent until almost midnight! And the ground for our tentsite has rare grass, so we slept on... More

We didn't stay at the campground so I can't speak to the "accomodations". However, we stopped in for a simple lunch of oysters, shucked by the guy who had dove for them that very morning. They were divine. We also had crab, and potato salad, and an ice cream cone. It's hard to call it a restaurant, but if you... More

I am 22 years old and have stayed at Hideaway Campground in Dingwall twice last summer. I would probably deem it to be one of the nicest campgrounds I've stayed at along the Cabot Trail, despite the poor hospitality provided by its owners. This past visit however was the last. I travelled across Cape Breton to spend a weekend with... More

What a place. We stayed in a cabin (#2) that was a little more seculded then the others. But the Lighthouse one would have been great too. Not big, but you are camping. They are clean and keep the rain off. We will be back this year!
